Here is a brief summary of the process:
1)Qualify for "World Class" level by placing in the top 4 at one of Six Regional Qualifiers
2)Place in the top 4 in the "World Class" level at Nationals (or be the previous year's winner)
3)WIN the National team fight-off
4)WIN the Pan Am Qualifier fight-off
5)Place well at Pan Am Games in 2007 for
6)2008 Olympics in Beijing
The process of getting to Beijing in '08 really began in '05 (and well before that for training of the athletes themselves)

Training, Devotion, Tournaments. You have to try really hard and work at it. The olympics are tough and not just anyone can get there.
