you are at the bottom of stairs. and beside you are 3 switches which corresponds to 3 different lights. THe lights are upstairs so you can't see it. How do you find out which switch belongs to a certain light for all three. And you can only go up once. No going down or anything. Just Going up once.

Here's the answer. Turn two switches ON, and left one switch OFF. Wait 10 minutes. Then shut one of the ON switches OFF. One switch is ON and two are now OFF. Immediately go into the room. If the light is on, you know it's the switch that is still ON. If the light is off, feel the light bulb. If the bulb is cold, it's the light switch that you never turned ON. If the bulb is still warm but the light is off, it's the switch you turned ON but then turned OFF prior to entering the room.

Flip the first switch. Let it stay on for a few minutes than turn it off.
Then flip the second switch. Keep that one on and go up the stairs.
If the light is in, obviously it corresponds to the second switch. If its not on but the light bulb is warm, it corresponds to the first switch [it was warm from just being on]. If the light is not on and the bulb is not warm, it is the third switch.
Interesting riddle. Am I right?

Turn on one light for 5 minutes so the bulb gets hot. Turn off that switch. Immediately turn on a second switch and leave it on. Go upstairs. The light that is lit is the switch that is on. Feel the other two bulbs. The light bulb that is warm is the first switch that you turned on and then turned off. The switch you never flipped goes to the cold light bulb.

1. You press the first switch 'on' and leave it on for 5 minutes then switch it 'off'.
2. You then press the second switch 'on' and then go upstairs.
Upstairs:
a. The lighted bulb is the one belonging to the second switch.
b. Touch both of the remaining unlighted light bulbs. The warmer bulb (left on for 5 minutes then switched off) of the two will belong to the first switch.
c. The remaining unlighted bulb will belong to the third, untouched switch.

go upstairs, attach two different coloured bulbs on top of the stairs, to two of the three. so that when you switch the light you can see them. make sure to remeber to which the coloured bulb is. now go downstairs, switch on a first swtich and see which one lights, one of them, which is the remaining one must not light (bcos there is no bulb on top of the stairs) and for the coloured bulbs you must know which switch if for the coloured bulb and where the bulbs are.

drop some water in on of the switch or do something to damage one of the light bolt then turn one on and one off then go up the stairs check for the on the light bolt that don't work the one that don't work will make some sound when you shake it or look burn or other sine of damage.once you found that ,you are retarded if you don't know witch on is witch.

while you are upstairs your buddy is downstairs flicking on and off the light switches, which help you find out which one belongs to a certain light for all three.

Turn one light on really long then turn it off. Then turn another on and run up the staris. The bulb that is hot was the first switch the one that is on is the second one and the one that is off is the third one
