My Siamese cat has just had 5 kittens {no kidding}. She eats alot. Dry food and canned food. She has 5 kittens to feed, so she has to have plently of food to have milk for them. Also mak sure your cat has alot of water too. No milk, water!! And yes she will use the litter box more. Good Luck and just remember that women that breast feed also eat alot and drink alot of fluids to have protein and vitamins for their babies. Also make sure Momma cat gets alot of attention as she needs it because she takes care of her kittens and need attention from you too.lol

Hey,
It is normal for your cat to be eating more, she is after all feeding an extra 5 mouths on top of her own. She should be on a really good quality dry cat food and should have plenty of water available for her at all times. It would even be really good if she went onto a really good quality dry kitten food, this then gets put through to her milk and then her kittens drink it, it just means that the kitten will be getting absolutly everything that they need to keep them happy, healthy and strong. Her filling the litter tray every day will be because she is eating alot more, she should have 3-4 meals a day but it's always a good idea to keep a small bowl of dry food next to her water with her at all times too.

Yes, a nursing cat will be very hungry. Please feed her high protein food, the same type as you will feed the kittens later on.
I'll suggest you feed her RC for Kitten 34 which is very good for nursing mothers. Also supplement her with Calcium and minreals/vitamins supps while she's nursing.

I've heard that feeding your cat ONLY canned food isn't good for them. It might be good for her if she's eating some dry food as well.

attempt a a range of of foodstuff. moist ingredients are extra attainable for them to commence on. you should blend moist foodstuff and dry foodstuff next. also, attempt a excellent fee kitten foodstuff (Nutro is the proper) as they per chance shying faraway from the unnatural corn scent of food market cat ingredients. i'm no longer a believer in forcibly keeping apart from the mum animal, as i trust it may bring about emotional damage and behaviour issues in a lengthy time period.

she needs plenty of protein, so feed her as much as she wants, she will slow down later when the kittens get older.
