I hear ladies always saying stuff like "sleep with him if you are sure he's the one".
Isn't that "feeling" just a chemical reaction that comes and goes?
There is no "one", Seems to me there can be a bunch of "the ones".

I am with you- that feeling is chemistry, and thank God for it. But there is no such thing as "the one"...

I believe there can be more than "one", but when you have the spark and they are a good decent, honest, loving, giving person, that makes them "the one". In case of death or some other unseemly condition, there could be another "one" out there for you. It'll be different, but can still be the new "one".
My sister has personally had four "ones". This fourth one is no better than the first, second or third that she dumped. The bad news is she's not liking this fourth one so much these days. She told me she could never live without a man, so maybe here comes number 5 in the near future. Watch out men. She's all sugar and spice when you meet her, but too soon she turns into the evil witch of the north.

I agree. This kind of goes right along w/ the whole "soulmate" concept. Some people really want to believe the person they are with is the one they are "meant" to be with. And usually that isn't the case.

You are correct in your assessment. When you are with "The One", you may feel as if that person is "The Only One." In reality, however, there are so many people in the world today that there may be even under difficult circumstances perhaps as many as 20,000 people that would be relatively well-suited to you.

i think there is chemical attraction between two people but not necessarily you find it on sex, it can be just being close to each other you might feel it. and indeed there might more than just one person, but the one i think is more than just chemistry, it should a mixture of feelings, attraction, financial and intellectual level and etnicity, language, etc.

there are multiple ones..... because, think of all the people in the world.... the one is just the person your most compatable with in your opinion. and that isnt reducing it at all.... if you think youve found the one, i wish you the best of luck. its just, if the one ends up breaking up with you, there are others..... and, the more people you meet, you realize the more people you are compatable with and can love. so, yeh, thats my answer.

Jesus , if I had waited for the one I'd still be a virgin. I'm not thinking that it exists. Its possible to love more than one person.
