If I remember correctly try finding a copy of the Army FM 21-20? It's the physical fitness manual and has a crapload of exercises that don't require equipment and can be done in the privacy of a 6'x6' room.

A deck of cards can be really fun too. Just flip them over one at a time and do the reps. Ace, King, Queen and Jack are 15 reps, the rest are face value. Clubs= Wide arm push-ups, Hearts= Flutter kicks, Spades= Sit-ups, Diamonds= Regular Push-ups. You can make the exercises anything you want, maybe throw in squats or something. No rest between exercises make for a light cardio too. Don't worry about gaining muscle mass, it's not going to make her look like Conan.

Gaining lean muscle mass will help with burning more calories at rest though.

well she sorta needs help from a grown up (even if not her mom) by simply changing her diet-but not going on a diet and little by little cause it's hard to change they way you eat. Start with that for 2 weeks, then incorporate fun exercise like playing tag or volleyball, swimming or just playing!! She doesnt need equipment cause she's not trying to build muscle. It's just a matter of changing habits, she can do it!! She probably needs a little reinforcement too and a positive role model. My little sister was very overweight since she was 10 until just recently ( her jr year) and she is finally slimming down. But most of all it was a decision she had to make on her own. SHe inspired me to major in exercise science! It breaks my heart to see overweught kids, cause it's just not their fault! Hope this helps. Write back if you want more info or ideas!

You know what at her age she shouldn't be dieting. She should be active and play sports and of course cut out the junk food and eat small balanced meals throughout the day. Portioned sizes is the key. Eating lots of fruits and veggies. Not only will she lose the weight but she will feel better about herself and have more energy.

She needs to ask herself the question of how she can loose the weight -- not you. Until she figures out that it is her weight to loose she won't do a thing about it. Why don't you offer to take walks with her in order to start some sort exercising. It's more fun to walk with someone and it doesn't cost any money at all!

My son is 21 months. 27 pounds and 33 inches tall. He wears 2T shirts and 18 month or 2T pants. He wears size 6 shoe. Supposedly, if you take a child's height at 2 years and double it, that is how tall the child is going to be.

walking around the neighbour hood, any kind of exercise should help whether it's doing jumping jacks, situps, crunches, pushups in her room, along with cutting down her portions and eating healthier

GO WALKING OR JOGGING AROUND YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD. IF ANYTHING I WOULD LOCK THE DOOR TO MY ROOM AND PLAY SOME HIP-HOP AND DANCE. DANCE UNTIL YOU SWEAT AND CAN'T DANCE NO MORE. I USED TO MAKE UP DANCE ROUTINES WITH A BEST FRIEND OF MINE AND PRACTICE IT SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. NOW NOT ONLY ARE YOU EXERCISING BUT YOU HAVE BUDDY TO KEEP YOU COMPANY.
