no you shouldn't have alcohol with any drug!

not a good drug to mix with alcohol. 5mg is not a high dose of prednisone but you haven't said why you took it, whether you have taken this drug before or how much you plan on drinking. If you have already had a single beer or glass of wine with dinner and you were not going to drink any more alcohol then I wouldn't worry too much but I definitely would not drink any more alcohol. Prednisone, even in low dosages, can make some people manic or feel over energetic and this is not a good condition with which to be mixing alcohol, so generally speaking you shouldn't ever mix alcohol with prednisone.

Avoid alcohol. Acting together, alcohol and prednisone can be damaging to the stomach.
