One of the last big Tournaments I fought in:

"The Pan American Open" held at the Disney land hotel in Anaheim
Ca., there was a few "kids" that were running up and down the stairs
over and over.I asked some parents what was going on.
The said the kids were slightly over weight compared to their
weigh in at sign up.(two days before)
The Pan American Open is the precursor to The Pan Am Games
Which is of course the precursor to the Olympics. There was photo I.D. that had to be worn around the neck at all
times and more rules than I have ever seen before.

I can usually make my fighting weight without too much trauma. Just run/jump rope, move around and sweat a bit. I have seen people who have cut hair and actually shaved their entire bodies to get that extra ounce off! Martial artists can be crazy!
