I know all the correct things to do. I know that calories in must be less than calories out. I know that you need to exercise. The problem is, I do all the right things. My nutritionist had me on a diet last year, it was a low glycemic high protein diet. That didn't seem to work so well... he told me to follow south beach. I did great in the first phase but can only maintain in the second, not lose.. and the first is too hard to do long term. I tried atkins and that was the same. He then put me on 1200 calories a day, and I still maintain. Now, I've just started weight watchers 3 wks ago. I figured since this diet has been helping people lose weight for about a million years.. its worth a try.. however, I'm still maintaining weight. I do work out. I go to the gym 3 times a week, I do 40 minutes of cardio and then I do weight training. On the off days I do light cardio at home. My diet consists of lean meat, fruit, veggies, and whole grains. Any helpful suggestions??

Please read my whole question before posting.. I do cardio 3 times per week, at least.. and my diet consists of lots of fruits and veggies and whole grain, so I'm getting plenty of fiber. I think I'm eating almost 75-100 grams of the 50 minimum grams of protein and 50-80 grams of the minimum 25-35 grams of fiber you need daily

I also never implied that I am doing the same cardio activities every day.. I do a mixture of kickboxing, elliptical, treadmill, and cycling.

Just another thing to add.. on most of these diets, since I am counting calories, it doesn't matter what kind of meat I'm eating as long as it is lean. You just get less from the higher calorie meats. You need red meat also, especially women, to have a healthy iron level

So far no one is giving me any answers that have helped me..it seems like all the answers consist of something I have said in my question. Lets get it all straight.. I go to a gym. I do cardio at least 3 if not 5 if not 7 days a week (I've been getting headaches lately). I do weight training at the gym 3 days a week (You should never do it more than every other day). My diet consists of lean meat, veggies, fruit, and whole grain. I am doing diets my doctor suggested. I usually stick with the diet for a few months.. (what I didn't say before) my doctor monitors me - as in hydration, muscle mass, fat percent - we have seen no changes.. except in muscle mass, but I'm not even losing inches..so my doctor tells me a different diet to try. He says my thyroid is not enlarged and my blood sugar levels are normal. I have had a thyroid test a few times.. as I have always been a little overweight and developed prematurely. I've added a little info.. any suggestions

To make the situation a little more confusing.. I was an overweight child, not extremely, but overweight. however, the food my mom fed me as a child should not have made me overweight. We ate fruit, we ate veggies.. we never had meat with fat on it or poultry with skin. She didn't like to feed us anything out of a can. She usually didn't buy things with a lot of sugar added sugar. There was never candy in the house. I was a weird kid.. so this was all fine with me.. I even liked the "adult" cereal moreso than the kids marshmellowie stuff. I hated chocolate - except dark - (I still do) and since you could only get that in the Hersheys miniature bags.. we only got that on Christmas and Easter.. about 5 miniatures.. and I'm such a strange girl that I only ate 1 a day.. or else it was too much chocolate. While my friends were eating ice cream, I was eating things like bowls of saurkraut. Yet, still, somehow, both me and my brother were fat little kids.. and still are.

What's your body fat percentage? If you are losing body fat, but gaining muscle, then you will not lose weight, just size, which takes longer.

You may need to pick a diet and stick with it for a while. I don't think you're giving them a fair chance.

Well it sounds like you have all the main food groups covered. Just remember to go easy on the meats. Especially red meat. I have lost 85 pounds since September.

Just remember to eat healthy!! Lots of fruits and veggies and easy on the meats. White fish is the lowest in calories. I learned a little math trick for calorie intake....

Take the desired weight you would like to be...if you are a woman times that by 10...men times it by 12...the answer is how many calories you can take in per day to maintain that weight. Obviously, if you take in a little less then you will lose weight.

Remember, it's not a diet that you want it's a change in lifestyle that you need. To eat correctly and get out and exercise. Find things you like to do be it dancing, walking, running, kickboxing, swimming, etc....and get out there and just Do It!!

Good luck!!!

First of all, try not to obsess about your weight. Its not all that serious. The world is so cool because people are all shapes, size, and colors, and personalities. Eat what ever you want, but in moderation. And run, or do a high cardio at least three times a week. When you obsess over it, you will not see the results because you are constantly getting on the scale and you dont lose weight over night like that. the work you do now, you will be able to see the results months later,. So, enjoy life.

Sounds like you are doing all of the right things. Are you keeping a food journal to make sure you know how many calories are going in? If so, then you may have a thyroid problem..hypothyroidism makes you unable to lose weight.

I have a diet that works for everyone. It hard, but you can lose 10-17 pounds in one week if you follow it. I've done it, it really does work. I posted this as a question some time ago to see if anyone wanted to know it. I only said 7-10 pounds but hardly anyone believed me. But it does work.

have you looked into food allergies? my mum went on heaps of diets and then tried weight watchers and if she didn't lose weight she put it on. one of the ladies there asked her if she had food allergies so she went to the doctor and it turned out she did and that was what was stopping her from losing weight. one she learned what foods she couldn't eat and she stopped eating them she started to lose weight. Also people can be allergic to certain fruit and vegetables plus wheat or cows milk all which could be restricting weight loss.

Sit ups and do crunches, you build sum lean muscle there plus the cardio exercise you do, you will loose whatever you want, and dont forget to cut down on your fatty food intakes. To lose in as little as 3 weeks, listen to music while you do it and make sure the abdominal pain is there else you are not doing much.

In the mood for a new hot meal? Make a big pot of veggie bean soup, divide into two-cup containers, and store inside the freezer. Before bed, place a container from the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door each day.
