I want to install a new front door on my house and i'm not sure what color or wood type to go with. My house is a light blue and white brick with light blue trim. Right now my door is a dark brown. I don't want any more blue. I'm thinking maybe white or natural wood. White i'm a little iffy about cause it gets to dirty looking to fast and I'm not sure what color or type of wood door would look good with a blue and white house. Please Help.....

Sometimes you can get samples of colors or woods at home stores so this may help you visualize what your looking for. If your thinking wood, some manufacturers will send you finish and wood type samples if you request them via Internet. Also I would suggest looking at other houses and see if anything in particular stands out to you. Definitely don't be too shy to approach a homeowner if you see a door you would like to see closer or find out what brand or kind it is. Most people will be flattered to have notice of one of life's greatest investment, their home!

Good Luck, hope this is helpful!

I would l do a natrual light wood for something airy. Or a Cherry wood. Both would be beautiful. You wouldn't have to worry about re-painting or looking dirty because they would be wood and very durable. I think that stained wood doors always make the front of the house appear more elegant, more warm and welcoming.

I would have said red, but the answer is already taken. While a white door or light wood color would blend in, it would also just make it a door. But a nice red door, would make your house stand out. Good luck.

Choose a color door and make it pop!!! , a color that is different from the house...like deep burgundy or deep navy blue.....before you pick out a new door paint the old one a few colors.... then hang a wreath or other decoration with the house colors in it....it will tie it all together....my siding is off white and shutters and shingles are hunter green, my door is a deep burgundy....it looks awesome.

A good insulated white door would be nice. They wipe clean very easily. Or if you want to go with wood a light oak color would look nice.

I agree with the last person ....red would look amazing! and it would also hide dirt! Also, in the summer you could plant red geraniums or petunias in your front yard - and in fall or winter red is the color of both seasons! Try putting different color sheets or fabrics over the entire existing door before you paint it and stand back at the street to see if you like it! Have fun decorating!

I like natural wood, or something unusual like a melon orange or yellow.

Match your flowers to the door color to create unity.

I would use a white door. If you keep up with it, and wipe it down about once a month, it will stay like new.

Yellow, green or in some cases, a nice orangey maple. It adds a bit of contrast and will not show dirt that much.

What about grey or black. It would stand out and yet still be neutral. and grey is an easier color to clean.
