2 Timothy 3:16 - "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

Notice that this scripture says that "ALL" scripture is from God and is beneficial for us. If God was kind enough to give you something that is beneficial for you and good for you, why would you want to disregard certain parts of it? What are you risking by disregarding what He tells you?

"This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: "I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea."
Isaiah 48:17, 18

The Creator of all life is offering to teach you how live in such a way so as to attain true happiness. Is that really an offer that you want to turn down, or pick and choose what you will listen to and not listen to? Is He willing to accept that you are only going to obey SOME of His commands?

"I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step."
Jeremiah 10:23

God did not create man to decide for himself what was right and wrong. This is idea that Satan put into Eve's mind in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 3:1-5) He told her that if she ate of the forbidden fruit she would be like God and would know good and bad. Eve died just like God said she would, if she had listened to God she would still be alive. Read Proverbs 3:5, 6 along with Jeremiah 17:9, 10. After reading this, ask yourself if God is trying to tell you that you should throw His commands away and think for yourself. Then ask yourself, "Why would I not want to listen to the Almighty Creator of all the universe who loves and cares for me enough to tell me what I should do so I can have a happy life?"
