Worshipping God puts your life in a better perspective, and makes me feel better immediately. Why didn't I start sooner?

I see this as a tricky question and hard to answer. God does give all the option to worship Him or not worship Him without punishment in one view.

I must ask you a question. How can those who do want to go someplace and do truly seek it out intentionally see that place as a punishment. Is not punishment or non punishment a view or an opinion. I have been told some prisoners who do come up for release from prison desire not to leave the prison because to them it is a great way of life with three square meals a day and a place to sleep. I am of the opinion many do desire to go to "hell" as many say because that is what the desire to do. If that be true is it a punishment for them or a reward?

I guess your question is like why does one love. Is it for selfish motives or selfless motives. In my view only the lover can answer that as here only the worshiper can answer with his defined position of worship and his view as to why.

Really I am also at a loss as to exactly what you mean by worship. Are you asking this seeing worship as giving a title to or respect to someone? If so is not the assignment of the name God already a form of worship? Is not the fact that God is set apart to be either worshiped or not a form of recognition and thus a form of worship? You did not class God as a human being or humankind as you are.

I admit your question did make me think. I even turned to a dictionary to look up the word worship again to see the possible meanings of the word in all positions. I hope it did the same to others. Have a good day and smile

Yes - as we are designed with a spiritual being that will ultimately seek a spiritual fulfillment, so I would still worship God. I'm guessing that you believe or not that heaven or hell is reward or punishment, but it is actually neither - we are all born into an eternity of separation from God - the result of that is hell. So there is not really a reward or punishment - a creation has been made with a particular outcome - but through mercy an alternate ending has been made available for those who would choose it upon conviction of the Holy Spirit. This is very basic Biblical teaching and it amazes me how many people think hell is an optional solution - it is the solution - heaven is the option. But for the grace of God, I would be headed to hell, but the Holy Spirit convicted me and showed me my sins as God sees them, and I was so disgusted at the filthiness of my being, that I knew I was not worthy of Christ, but I could not imagine turning away such a remarkable gift - and it took faith to accept it and it takes faith everyday to live by it, but it is secure. When I step from Christ, I know that he never steps away from me and then when I think of where I have taken him, I confess that I would smear his Diety as such. Does this make God mean? No, it makes him merciful and gracious. Mean would have been to have never provided an option other than hell. So it is that I would worship him regardless of outcome because he loved me enough to sacrifice his self for me - that is a rare gift indeed.

I worship god for creating me, nothing else. Other religions such as Muslims worship god for rewards and POINTS. The more of a thing you do the more points you get and rewards you get. If you are a martyr you get 70 GIRLS in heaven. Nice! aint it!

What do you mean, IF God gave you a choice?

He did.

Don't confuse the Christian loving God Jehovah, with the Islam god allah.

They worship allah and kill or anything else for him. Or they get killed by other Islamics.

This is a good question. I would probably choose to worship some form of God; all religions have some type of heavenly figure. If we worshipped no one, we would believe in nothing. If we don't have faith, it would make living rather difficult.

I know He exists. God is in control. Hell or not, suffering or not, good days or not...God is God. Punishment gets some people attention, sometimes miracles get our attention, sometimes dreams about Jesus get out attention. I acknowledge God as God and obey Him because He is real and the closer I get to Him the closer He gets to me. There is nothing more reliable and perfect and good than God. The chance to know He created you, your kids, the universe is enough to honor Him.

I worship God not because of what judgment He brings in the end but because of his love for me and mankind.
