I think it was politics at its worst. He's a lame duck that is doing what the party wants him to do to look good for the next election. I honestly think he doesn't even know enough about the subject to make an informed decision....but hey, he's the 'decider' after all.

I think most Americans don't care. Some just go along with what their church seems to think. Some go along with it because it's what Bush says. Some go against it because it's what Bush says.

Most people who are paying attention are outraged, and rightly so. This type of decision has no place in a modern society - prohibiting valuable scientific research because of some shaky religious grounds. And those grounds are so greatly inflated by religious as to be laughable. This is a terribly embarrassing decision for America.

A disgusting show of lack of consideration for those who are desparate for medical help. I believe the idea behind separation of church and state is to prevent religion from affecting political decisions? Yet religion is involved always. And if religion is involved; isn't one of the most important tenets of all religions preserving human life? The entire system is contradictory and amazingly hypocritical. The ultra-conservativism spreading throughout American politics clouds the minds of otherwise intelligent people, and leaves millions to die.

I wish you all the best.
