Is the bible a set of rules?
or a story about a set of guidelines.
Do we set the rules based on these guidelines?
If so why do we fight over them...

My belief is that the Bible is a story that was created by human beings to have some kind of control over the world a long time ago.......Not to say, that I don't believe in alot of things in there, just remember that it was made by HUMAN BEINGS and is therefore, someone's opinion............

The bible is a Historical fact with guidelines and rules that apply to our daily lives. Only those who are against it's instruction or guidelines are fighting it. We should not set our own rules but abide by what God has given thru and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Great question. I believe the devil gets credit for that. There should never be blood shed over the truth. Only when the truth is perverted can people find reason to hate each other. I do however think that the lord still works in the same way as he did in the old testament. When the leaders of a nation get so corrupt that their inequity is full the lord will let them be brought down by not protecting them from the adversary who like to breed contention among people and nations.

The bible is a book for our benefit. It is full of information that would help us on our journey through this life. Ever wonder how Job knew that the whole earth hung upon nothing? Or how they knew for health reasons to bury thief defecation? Or how having more than one sexual partner or of the same sex was dangerous. It is a instruction book for us, his children. It is a book wrote for us, so we can know what God has done for us.

The Bible is God's instruction on how we humans can live, in order to have the best possible way to a happy lifeand good relationships within our family circle as well as outside of the family!

People will continue to try to disprove the bible but they cant. As people live apart from the bible and chose to live their own way they try to get rid of what makes them feel guilty about living in sin and wickedness. They dont want accountability.

Because not everyone believes in the Bible. Some believe the Quran, others in Dianetics (Scientology) etc.
