Limping = pain, even if she's not yelping. Check her nails and the pads of her feet to see if she has a cut or something stuck in there.

The most common cause is luxoid patella (a slipping knee cap) or a torn ACL (ligament in her knee). Either way, she needs to be seen by a vet.

Try searching the Internet for a condition called a "luxating patella" It is very common in small breeds, or have a vet look at it.

I agree that it is probably a luxating patella, or possibly a torn cruciate ligament. Both should be checked by a vet. Is your dog overweight? If so, that will make both conditions worse.

I don't agree with the cancer thing.....take the dog to the vet and get it checked. Could be something in his pad on his foot, or he could have hurt it one way or another. Only a vet can give you an actual diagnosis. Call and make an appointment.

our dog jumped off the couch and his hind leg got caught in the couch and it twisted and he screeched and then limped for a long time. but not always. so if i wasn't home to see the jump that hurt him it would be a mystery to me. maybe your dog did something to injure himself like that?!

She could have pulled a tendon. It is common in older dogs, I would take her to the vet to be sure and to see what is definitely her problem so you can treat it.

I suspect either luxating patella or torn anterior cruciate ligament. See your vet.
