About once every 5 or 6 dreams I am able to realize that I am dreaming while dreaming and then change whatever in the dream to whatever I want it to be. I usually like to fly around and beat up Nazis. Is this normal to be able to do this, I mean, control your dreams?

Are there any movies about people who can do this? If there are I'd like to see them.

This phenomenon is called Lucid dreaming, and yes other people can do it too, I know, because I am one of them :)

personally I prefer to set-up a dream and let it take control from there, to see what wonderous place it leads but yes I can control them if I so wish...

note: I find it easier when trying to create something instead of trying to "draw it with my eyes" to make it real in my dream (thus take conecntration from the dream environment and its goings on... I instead try to use another sense, like feeling a towel around my waist, is an easy way to actually make a towel "be" around my waist inside a dream - if it wouldn't otherwise have been there...

I have done various other experiements with my lucid dreams, from wake induction, to remote viewing... you might wish to be creative with your own .. but I'm sure like myself you agree that the most important thing is that you enjoy them :)

I used know I was in every dream and be able to most things in the dream.

I basically had a zillion reoccuring dreams that I redrempt and then took total control of them.

After taking control of my dreams I never drempt the same dream again. Eventually I got to the point where I was dreaming less frequently because there was less and less to dream about.

Eventually I got to the point where I don't dream at all.

I didn't dream for a good several months and then eventually I started to dream again but I could no longer control my dreams because I no longer was using specific technics for remembering and controling your dreams.

I still don't have anywhere near as many dreams as I used to and its sad. I miss the adventure of a good dream.

Is that wierd?

i dont know about movies, but i do know that it is possible to control your dreams, but it doesnt usually happen randomly like you described. It takes a great deal of concentration and meditation as you are going to sleep and not many people can do it. These are called waking dreams. If you research it you may find out if there are movies about it....the only one i know of is The Cell and its not very realistic. I have waking dreams, but it can be scary at first so if you want to try it read up on it first and be sure that you're ready.

i can if i try to, it takes effort but you can actually feel yourself falling asleep. you just have to count yourself to sleep. try this, relax your body and close your eyes and in your head count 1 I'm dreaming, 2 I'm dreaming, 3 I'm dreaming, etc. it will take several tries for it to work, but it is the weirdest thing that i have ever experienced. you are leading yourself into dream and when you feel sleep come over you, you will know. however, you wont get a very recuperative sleep because you are maintaining control over parts of your mind, i recommend doing it on the weekend so you aren't groggy at work the next day. sweet dreams

Not really normal- obviously you drift into semi-consciousness while you're still asleep. You must be a light sleeper. I'm the same way, although usually in my dreams there's a villain and some twerpy little kid (I have no clue why) and I always like to defeat them :)

I do too. (Not the Nazi part, but I control my dreams. I usually start them off too by thinking of something purposely.)

I say it's normal, but usually I let them take their own course because usually dreams reflect your everyday life but in a symbolic way.

yes. most anyone can. Only people with highly overactive imaginations, like small children cant. Because they never realize thay are dreaming.

Dreaming to control something means you have unsatisified desire in reality and you want to do it in dreams.

Yes, there is similar movie called "DREAMSCAPE", old movie pretty good!
