It is patently obvious that it is being used by uneducated and stupid people, both young and old, as a forum. Therefore, close it, reopen, bring in membership rules, minimum age etc. Use the, not three, but two strikes and you're out rule and we'll have a site of wonderful elucidation!

Eventually that's what will happen if no controls are set. We have problems with trolls {the Ednas} underage children asking for sexual advices., people using this section as their personal love connection bridge to meet others. And Yahoo! will either shut it down or regulate it.

Wow, I always thought I was smart, but you used words I had to look up.
I do find the stupid answers you get when asking a valid question quite annoying. But you must learn to deal with the idiots of the world.
You must remember that there are actually people out there in this world who have NO LIFE. They are the ones that make sites like this unbearable.
I still don't get what "elucidation" means. Does that mean that I can't be at the "new Yahoo Answers????

If you don,t like it why bother using it you would probably like it more if all the people who use it have the same views as you have!I have found it a great help on occasion some people have given me some helpful answers to my questions,But if you know everything! You have no need to ask questions but I have not got a problem admitting that there are things I do not know about So that makes me stupid ?better stupid than arrogant

People who use this site are looking for simple advise, not encyclopedic answers. It makes people feel good if they can give advise to others, and if the people asking the questions really want a decent answer, they just have to do some sifting. If you want a refined, elucidative site, go to wikipedia.

sounds very nice...in writing. but they have rules here, people ignore them and they don't enforce them. they have a minum age (14) and anyone can click the yes button when it asks if you are over 14. and they do kick people off of here ...and those same people come back make a new ID and keep at it.
Like all good things people have to suffer through the bad to get to the good.
Just ignore the ones that you don't like and keep on going.
Smile it makes people wonder what your up to.

I do not think Yahoo answers should be shut down I enjoy coming on and answering questions. Yes there are some people that I do not think belong there with their foul language or sick gross comments. so we follow the rules and do what we need to I do not see this as a reason to shut it down. If you are that unhappy you could quit coming here. do not mean to be rude. Just my opinion

Nope. It is fine the way it is. Why do you feel the need to change it? It doesn't belong to you. If you are so worried about the way Yahoo answers works, start your own website.

I wholeheartedly agree with you but let's remain open and humble instead of condescending. Let's allow hotheaded time to make mistakes and learn; since we have the capacity to filter what makes sense, we'll ignore them and discuss good issues. Also, that gives us a measure of how responsible those in charge of education in this country have been; we can equally assess the level of youth in the country in order to Analise and explain their behavior

I disagree. There are some (albiet few) valid questions being asked. Some people may genuinely not know the answers to the questions they have, nor may they know the means by which to achieve those answers.
True, there are those who goof the system, but you'll always have that!

no it should not be closed down this is a good way of people looking for answers and chatting with people like everywhere you get silly people and silly questions and silly answers at the moment the person i see as uneducated and stupid is heavenlyhaggis
