Check this site out, it Will clear things up for you. It basically says that hydrocodone (Vicodin), is not tested for in standard tests but is in extended ones, and it will have a detection period in Urine for 3-4 days.
"Hydrocodone may not cause a positive result in a standard opiate urine test. Many opiate tests test only for morphine (which both codeine and heroin break down into). This is true for both home/business kits and laboratory testing. Hydrocodone does not break down into morphine, and is therefore not detected by these tests."
I wouldn't worry if it showed up anyway b/c you have a prescription (or should). Personally, I have taken prescription hydrocodone and taken a drug test for a new job the next day and it never even showed up in my urinalysis.

It should begin working within 24 hours, but will remain in your system much longer. If you're worried about it for your job, just photo copy the prescription or have your doctor write something like a letter that says this is a legal drug you need to take, before you do the screening.

It totally depends on the medication. Tell them that you were on a prescription. No surprizes for them....maybe a job for you.
