can i play it on my regular xbox? yes, or no.
it says "for xbox live" on it.

Yes.

Xbox Live is the name for the Xbox online service. You probably get a 2-month trial of it in the pack somewhere (if you have high-speed Internet already). But if you don't have it, you can easily use the single-player mode of DDR. There are very few games that *require* Xbox Live, such as Counter-Strike (which is multiplayer only).

I'm assuming that you have a DDR game disc in addition to the DDR dance-mat.

yes you can play DDR
Xbox Live is a special piece of equipment you buy and hook up so you can play video games with your xbox over the internet with other people on their own xboxes at home. It does cost extra money and you need to set up an acct. That's all I know, not an xbox owner, so can't give you specifics.
