I tend to eat stuff.. not a good way at all. I think the best best way is to take a quick short nap. =)

You might not believe me, but apples.
Apples give you a larger spark of energy in the morning than coffee.
Not saying coffee is bad, I love coffee.
Try the apple thing, trust me.
Whenever I get up I also jump into the shower.
Whenever I'm feeling especially groggy I make the water colder.
That snaps me back to reality.

In the military if you know you have to get up late for a watch you would drink a canteen full of water right before bed. You will be up in 5 hours to goto the bathroom.

Okay...I am totally getting all of this from a parenting magazine, ways to rev up....and they work cuz I've tried them.
*Chill out in the shower in the AM,taking a hot shower will not help at all.alternate the temperature of the water every few minutes from warm to cool. It makes your blood vessels contract, increasing blood flow throughout your body which energizes your muscles and of course helps you feel more awake.Citrus scented soap can be aromatherapeutic, the smell is said to produce brain waves of alertness and relaxation.
*If you usually turn the tv on and watch the news or something in the am while getting ready for work....instead put on music.music helps lift your spirits by easing mental tension and stimulating positive thinking. One study found that when people listen to music,it has a similar effect on the brain as food and sex do....whatever that means?
*Eat some protein in the am for breakfast, Try whole wheat toast topped with peanut butter and honey, nonfat yogurt mixed w/a cup of strawberries or blueberries,or a half cup of oatmeal and hard-boiled eggs.A mix of carbs and protein will keep your energy higher for a longer period of time because it takes your body longer to digest a mix of carbs and protein, than an all carb breakfast.
*Wear red.....studies show that red has a positive effect on our mood and alertness, looking at something red increases our circulation and energy levels.
*To keep your head during the day,pop a peppermint, the scent decreases fatigue by 25 %.
*Massage or scratch your head from your forehead and temple to the base of your skull. It boosts blood flow to your brain.
*Take a short hike or even a walk around the office even for 10 minutes, it boosts your metabolism for up to two hrs afterward.
*Not drinking enough water can make you feel fatigued/tired, sodas arent enough, drinking water increases your blood flow just like it does in the shower. Caffeine only perks you up temporarily, but it causes restlessness, agitation and sleep disturbances once the buzz fades.
*Stretch your muscles, just like exercising it boosts your energy levels.
*Shrug your shoulders,it rids your body of leftover tension from the day, which most of us hold in our neck and upper back, Shrug your shoulders all the way up to your ears while relaxing your neck and jaw hold for 2 seconds then drop and repeat.
Hope some of this helps you....it helped me. And stopping drinking sodas really, really helped me, and went to flavored waters.

ahhh...get some caffeinated tea and put lots of lemon juice and sugar in it.
That'll wake you up every time.
If not, then go run or take a cold shower.
But I'd go with the lemon juice and tea - it's portable. ; )
Add loud music if necessary.
Sweet dreams...
(or not...)

Take a cold shower. Never a hot or warm one because that will relax you more. Or go swimming.
