Nice Pant suits or a nice shirt and slacks to church. Some churches think its fine, some do not. I say it's ok. Not those short miniskirts or clothing that is disrespecful, but a nice pantsuit/slacks I think is ok.

All the Lord cares about is you showing up. Not everyone can afford nice clothes. As long as a person don't look as if they are trying to sexually entice someone, no one should worry about the apparel. Should a person be banned for wearing jeans in church when in fact that person may be a truer Christian than the next person wearing a suit?

Sure no problems. I'm a Wesleyan which is a cross between Methodist and Baptist.

My mother always said that it did not matter what you wore to church as long as it was the best that you had. In other words, unless you were poor, torn jeans and a tee-shirt is not appropriate. She would say to think about what you would wear to meet the president, and how much more important is Christ.

I guess the key is respectfulness and a sense of worship.

The church I attended told me that only the elderly women could wear pant suits but the rest of the women had to wear dresses. I was not allowed to participate in church activities because I wore slacks. I stopped attending that church.

I do not think that God cares. The Baptist church across the street from me has all their women wearing long skirts all year round, even in winter, while the men are nice and cozy in their slacks. I think it is better to go in pants than to not go at all.

I think that if anyone finds it inappropriate to wear any clothing to church, they should not wear that clothing any place else either. God sees you 7 days a week and if you have to wear a dress to church, you have to wear a dress all the time.
I truly think God would find that pretty ridiculous.
If the church is judging you, tell me that you wouldn't want to be part of that church any way.

I like them, and wear them to church now and then. While I was raised that pants in Church were only ok on Sunday night or Wednesday nights, I do now wear them some on Sunday morning. Chasing 5 small children in a dress and heels is not as fun as it looks! I feel, if you are ok with it, its fine. God does not care what our body is dressed in, he cares what our heart is dressed in.

Where do you live? I know that in the South, women only wear dresses and skirts to church. But in places like California, people look at you like you're crazy if you wear anything nicer than jeans!

If you are going to church, then you wear what YOU feel comfortable wearing. If the powers want to exercise control over you, change churches.

I was always told that you should wear your best to church .If your best is a potato sack then that is between you and God.Deep down inside, we all know the answer that fits this question for ourselves.

In my opinion I think that it's wrong to tell someone that they can't go to church because of what they wear. Shouldn't everyone be allowed in. So mostly, I agree with you.
