I would never go to India living in the United States. Getting implants is not a 1 step process. I even got immediate load implants where they place your teeth immediately after placing the implants. But the teeth they place are temporary teeth. After 6 months or so you get your permanent teeth. What about possible complications? Who do you go too?So often you can't find a Dentist willing to even touch you if they didn't place the implants. Do you have the money to fly back to India? What if you can't find a local Dentist to finish your work do you go back to India for the finished crowns. How is traveling all over the world going to save you money? Travel expense, lodging plus the chance that something could go wrong. Implant placement is a science and takes skill to have success. It also must be under strict sterile conditions as even the littlest bit of germs transfered into the opening will compromise the implant.

I do not think the savings you think you would get would be a reality in the long run.

I agree with Health G - dental treatment is quite reasonable in India, and you can now get treated under excellent quality control in metropolitic cities like Delhi and Mumbai ( not Calcutta!). From what I see from the other replies, the treatment costs approx. 25-30% of what it would have costed you in USA. A dental implant, alongwith its attachment and crown, would be costing $900 approx.
There is one more thing before you decide on an implant .... at times, immediate implant is not a good option .... it is recommended to place the implant and cover it for a few months while it gets firmly anchored to the jaw-bone. After this only, the final restoration(crown) is placed. Hence it might not be feasible to get the entire treatment done in one go ..... something to bear in mind if you are thinking of travelling all the way to India.

The implant would be from $1,500 to $2,000, but that's just for the implant. You need to have the implant restored with something or it's useless. ONE implant is typically restored with a crown, but that is a two-part deal. First you get what is called the abutment that attaches to the implant and sticks out above your gums. That can cost from $500 to $1,000 depending on whether you can use a pre-fab abutment or if it has to be custom made and what the fees are in your area. Once you have the abutment, you need a crown and that fee should be pretty much the same as a crown on a regular tooth. That would be from about $750 to $1,000 or maybe more in some areas. This means the total would range from about $2,750 to $4,000 depending on several factors. I'd say the average single tooth implant restored with a crown in New Jersey might be about $3,000.

Get your full dental implant work and jaw surgery in India.Dental Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic/dental surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star .

My cousin got her full dental work and jaw surgery for the cross bite and the overbite problem done there and she is more than very happy with the results.sHe is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. She paid just 30% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her.hope this helps.I think she paid only 7000$ for the full dental surgery for which she was quoted 19000 $ in USA.
