I'm paying way to much for dish network and would like to spend it else where. We had an antenna growing up back in Pennsylvania. Do they still work?

yes. i live in the sticks of Oklahoma and i am too cheap to pay for a satellite. i spent well under $200 for a good outdoor antenna and some cable to run from the antenna to my house and i get at least 4 or 5 channels crystal clear. i also have lots of dvd's for when there is nothing on, because it does happen from time to time when there isn't crap to watch. i wont lie , it may take a lil getting used to, but I'm happy with my set-up

Yes they still work. And will work when they shut off the analog signals in 2009.

Your TV may not be able to recieve the digital broadcasts depending on how old it is. But, any 27" TV and bigger, made this year and beyond will have a digital tuner built in.

Click on the link below, type in your address (or you can just type in a Zip Code if you don't want to risk getting junk mail) and it will tell you what antenna you can get to fit your needs.

Like a poster said earlier, $200 bucks will get you a very good antenna with very good range, and you will be able to pick up analog, digital and HD signals.

Will you be happy with it? I don't know, depends on what you want.

Good Luck

i assume the flamboyant antenna grew to become into directional. The rabbit ears are actually not directional, or are a great way much less directional than the flamboyant antenna. The kinfolk that wrote the overview is probable very on the threshold of the transmitters, yet some are in one direction jointly as the others are in a various direction. the flamboyant antenna grew to become into geared in the direction of the main significant stations, yet faraway from the others. The rabbit ears, picked up the majors much less strongly than the flamboyant antenna, yet nevertheless nicely sufficient. on a similar time, it picked up the minor stations, as a results of fact it gets the two nicely in all instructions.

If you can get antenna reception, and you don't go for "Premium" channels like HBO, Showtime, etc. the antenna is fine. I have satellite, but I still use the antenna for local stations--the picture is better.

Yeah, for a while. Local stations are slowly switching to digital and that might spell the end of the old rabbit ears.

Yes, they work as far as I know. It really depends on how many stations in your area that you can get.
