We've been on for 8 months but I feel like this is not going anywhere. He always wants to go out with friends and party all the time. He makes me feel special but his lifestyle is just not what I like. I also go out but not as much as he does. How will I break up with him in a nice way? I feel trapped.

You need to talk to him and get straight to the firm. You dont have to yell or be mean but you need to be firm so that he knows this is no joke.You can still be friends but you need to tell him that this is not what you want nor what you need. To be honest, if he's being as self-centered as you say then he doesnt deserve niceness. You deserve better.

dont linger on the subject. Tell him straight up. If he really cared he would understand how u feel. Dont be surprised if he feels hurt because if it was u, youd probably feel the same way.
