Because analyzing their own behavior vs. the Scriptures would be too hard, too painful. Best to pick and choose certain passages and re-interpret them in ways that best suit their behavior, vs. the other way around. That's way so many "Christians" support the war in Iraq where thousands of people are dying, but cry hell and high water if a fetus is aborted. If anyone's close to being a genuine Christian, it's the Quakers. Jesus never lifted his hand against another person, even if it was to defend himself. He would not say, "Smite thy enemies with tactical airstrikes and smart bombs", or "He Who is Without Sin may bomb the first abortion clinic", etc.....today's fundamentalist Christianity is so perverse and distant from what Jesus represented, it makes me sad and bitter.

I agree. I do my proper no longer to stereotype, yet definite I easily have encountered extra hatered, ridicule and rejection contained in the face of Christians than I easily have modern in the different non secular doctrine. What i hit upon "humorous" in reading a number of the solutions is that "Pagan's won't be able to be Christ-Like because they don't trust what the bible says about Him". someone please clarify to me how this isn't so. If Pagan's prepare a similar features and personality characteristics that Christ portrayed, how are they no longer Christ like. Jesus did no longer have a denomination that He said!! there have been no genuine divisions contained in the church on the prompt except Jewish or Roman. Now, Jesus replaced right into a Jew, yet he did not "stick with" their non secular doctrine, does that make him any a lot less Jewish? Why, as a Christian, do you want to assert to someone "properly yeah, you've all a similar features and personality characteristics that Christ had, yet that would not make you Christ-like." that could be like telling a Math Genuis "properly you're large at Math and all, yet because you do not look as if or stick with the precise route that Einstein did, sorry we purely won't be able to say your a genius."! Come on human beings. God/insert deity did not create the separation is the non secular doctrines guy style did. For those of you who carry so tightly on your faith that you won't be able to even admit that someone who isn't Christian can nevertheless be Christ-Like, properly i think extra sorry for you than I ever have. To imagine that the time period Christ-Like can purely stick with to Christians, properly you're lacking out on a proper party of ways Christianity isn't the top all be all answer and there are those those who stay our lives as examples to all, and many persons are extra ideal Christians as Non-Christians than lots of your fellow believers are Christians and declare the call of Christianity. that is extremely unhappy certainly even as a good party is ridiculed as a good party.

I think your best answer should be from a Christian who explains him/herself best, NOT by someone who is not Christian, misunderstands Christians, and makes sweeping generalizations about them...Just my 3 cents.
Hate is a word that's thrown out far more than it should. I've certainly said it in front of my students, only to be reminded that you shouldn't hate something (which I think is pretty cute). With that said, there ARE people who truly do hate others who also claim to be or ARE Christians. It's important to remember that people often forget their place, often forget what it is they're striving to do in life. It doesn't mean they're not truly Christians. It just means they're not living as Christ-like as they should. It's also important to remember that the people who scream the loudest are often the ones who represent the minority of a group, NOT the majority. I'm not saying we Christians should be excused when we've gotten off path and are player hating (because really, we should all just hate the game), I'm just saying we should be reminded that how we're feeling at a particular moment isn't what we should be striving to feel.

As you already know, not even true Christians are not endowed with a mystical ability always to do what is right. Knowing this, they gladly receive the *free* gift of salvation that is offered by Jesus Christ, and then with God's grace do their best to honor God in their lives.
"War mongering" is a political term that is not relevant here.

Some think they are doing what is best by getting rid of all the non-Christians. I never saw in the bible about getting rid of all the non-Christians. In fact, most religions were here before Christianity was.

No Christian follow every teaching of Christ. He said to not judge others. He said to turn the other cheek. He said to give all you have to the poor.
Heck, Jesus and the disciples were COMMUNISTS! (In the purest sense of the word) You know any Christian Communists?

many them are either mis-informed or they only read what they want to read. I'm with you I ask myself that question everyday and it pains me to see how we treat each other. Also when we're near the end of times people will harden their hearts. children turn against their parents, brother against brother etc. I truly believe we are very close
