Prefer hindi..been around for ages.

Hindi is used all over india but tamil is used mostly in the south.

You cannot compare the two although hindi is one of the official languages of india.

Both are used by different groups of people in different matters.

tamil is the original indian language, ut hindi is mixed . most hindi speakers are indo europeans. from tamil there are many languages came. hindi is popular bcz its easy to learn and communicating with other culture is easy.tamil is very difficult language.

Your choice in the end. However, if you prefer to learn each language to get the better advantage, test yourself to see which one is easier. Geographically, they are close, but in terms of language families...one is Dravidian while the other Indo-Aryan.
