I asked an almost identical question to this a month ago! Yeah...I am on a Mac and I admit I do file sharing too :-P
First, download BitTorrent for Mac OS X here (2nd download link) ---> http://www.bittorrent.com/download.html
Then, simply search for the files you want on any popular torrent website, such as thepiratebay.org, and download them. Make sure it is either under a Macintosh OS category for Apps, etc. or it specifically says the file will run on Mac. The files are usually either in .dmg or .rar format. (To open .rar files, you'll need something like UnRarX or Stuffit Expander, both of which are free.)
After downloading the torrent file off the website, there will be a .torrent file on your desktop. Double-click it and it will open in BitTorrent, where the actual file(s) are shared among peers that are online. You may have to wait for a long time, depending on how big the file(s) are and how many peers there are, etc.
After it says Complete, you now have the finished files on your desktop!
Good luck.

Look at the sites of BitTornado and Azureus to see if there's a Mac version available for download.
