Anytime I paste even only line into a document (anywhere, anyhow) and edit the document, the document is double spaced --ie, when you type more information and push Enter, you get two lines. I know how do defeat it with Space-Enter, but ... is there any way to not to have that problem? This happens in Word, Word Perfect, AOL, AZZ, etc. Tanks.

Formatting the paragraph (re spacing) isn't the full or generic answer (though interesting) because it happens in WordPad where there isn't a way to change the paragraph spacing. Looking at WordPerfect, there aren't actually "double" Enters -- the spacing is different (I guess) as TheHumbleOne noted.

Copy/Paste into notepad first, then into the other app.

Have you looked into Format, Paragraph where you can set line spacing?
