The cold air from the freezer goes into the refrigerator compartment to provide cold but not freezing air. Check for a dial setting in the refrigerator compartment. There might be two of them. One is for the freezer compartment and actually turns the compressor on and off. The other one is a little door, like the vent on a car blower. If it has been real humid and you've been opening and closing the freezer/refrigerator this vent sometimes gets clogged with ice. Open the vent all the way. This is the dial that says FRESH FOOD or REFRIGERATOR. The other dial should be for the freezer and should be left alone. If you don't feel cold air coming out of this vent, it is likely frozen up. Sometimes directing a hair dryer up this vent will defrost it. Other times you have to take all the food out of the freezer, and take the back of the freezer compartment off. This will expose the coils and they will likely be frozen over with ice.

Sounds like your thermastat.
