You need to be relaxed, and use lube as well. If you're tense, it will only make the whole thing worse. I was a virgin as well on my wedding night, and it wasn't this horrible thing my mother had made it out to be either. I've had 2 children, I guarantee you...THAT hurts!!! ;-)

Seriously, just relax, tell your husband to take it slow, maybe even take a nice hot bath. Keep it romantic, get some strawberries and champagne, and play soft music. Get a romantic, sexy nightie to wear--I promise that will help you get in the mood as well! Talk it over w/your hubby beforehand, so he knows that he can't just "wham, bam thank you ma'am," it will be just fine. Best of luck to you, and congrats on your marriage and congrats on staying true to yourself, regardless of what everyone in society thinks you ought to do!!!

It really doesn't hurt that bad. Besides the pleasure outways any discomfort. Have you used tampons or has nothing even come close to you? I guess it depends on how "endowed" he is and what positions. I was with a guy for 5 years the first time was uncomfortable. I'm with a new man going on 3yrs. It took months to "break me in". No matter how slow he went I always bled a little after, but it never really hurt. Every body is different. Sometimes it still hurts me to put in tampons. You have to relax.

I say if your getting married your partner should understand well enough that you are a virgin and would be extra careful with you. Also, make sure to do lots of foreplay and tease and caress each other. Sex isn't supposed to be about rushing to stick it in and going fast. Its supposed to be sensual, fun, freeing and for the first time the most amazing time with someone you love. So if he doesn't know your a virgin tell him, and I'm sure if he has a brain about him, he'd go slow and treat special like you deserve.

It's going to hurt no matter what. If you're an active girl, as in you exercise, it won't be as bad. Just have him lube you up naturally and go very slow. You will enjoy it, I promise. And good for you for waiting!!

take your time, enjoy yourselves and explore each others bodies. Your husband should live you enough to be gentle and careful. Don't stress, you have the rest of your lives to figure it all out. Let him use his fingers first, then go from there. Good luck

I don't remember it being unbearable. For a brief moment it was a little uncomfortable, but that's it. I was always afraid of it being terrible. Just go slow and relax... it will be great.

Everyone is talking about how much it hurts. It did not hurt me. It was a little uncomfortable, but if your hubby takes it easy and slow it will not be painful.

Quit worrying. Just tell your new husband to take it slow and easy. Chances are you won't have any pain and if you do, well, childbirth will be soooo much worse so suck it up and relax.
