Hmmm. Doubtful that they are related, unless it is partially a lymph-node obstruction and/or circulation problem. Are you diabetic?
If they are unrelated, you could have a fungal infection....OR, this is most likely.....you just need to GENTLY scrape your feet. You can soak them in oil, put a plastic bag on, then a sock, and sleep in that till they soften up enough to exfoliate.

I understand what you are going thro! For the arches and heels you will want to file down the dead skin (if there is any) and then put some salve or lotion stating specifically that it is for feet. For the swollen ankle it depends for your age, if you are older than that is probably a sign that you have poor circulation and may need to see a doctor OR if younger (or older whichever) you may have strained some ligaments.

I would try a parafin bath that you can buy for 25-35 dollars at a bed bath and beyond, plug in in your bathroom, follow the directions and wrap up your feet. You could also use the socks that you put the moisturizer in and then put the socks over so that they soak overnight.
But I would go in and make sure
1. that you don't have diabetes
2. that you don't have an infection
These are the first things to go and do.. before you self treat.
The doctor can help you out with those, and perhaps x-ray your ankle to make sure you don't have gout/diabetes.

I suggest you see a doctor. But in till you get in, I would soak, pumas and use bag balm, I get it from Walmart in the pet section. It really helps w/rough cracked dry feet. There can be several reasons why your ankle is so swollen. I don't have enough info to help with that. Sorry. Good luck!

You may have fissures or possibly a fungal infection causing the cracking. I think the ankle pain is separate type of pain check out the arcticles in my source. There is also a discussion forum at that site and some products that may help you if you don't want to try a podiatrist. hope it helps.
