Once a lady has accepts a gentleman's invitation to dance, he should escort her to the dance floor. As the music begins, the lady will curtsy

The lady shall curtsy politely, with a slight lowering of her head not more ..

unless she is meeting the Queen..

unless she's in the bedroom. "

Never unless you're British. Then you curtsy when meeting royalty. Americans never curtsy to anyone, not even the Queen of England.

I usually curtsy when a gentleman opens the door for me at Walmart or Quiktrip or anywhere.
