How much would you pay for it...or how much did you pay for it?
Looking for the best wine for the buck. Not looking for some $1000 bottle of wine...just a wine that is REALLY worth the price.

Well I like a sweet light wine - and in that category I would have to say that Conundrum is the best I have had. However, they were once owned by Caymus Vineyards, and they just sold Conundrum to another vendor, so I have no idea if the new vintages will be any good. I also VERY much enjoy the Chateau St. Michelle EROICA Riesling. Its new, and delicious, quite sweet.

When it comes to reds I prefer a blend of different grapes. Opus One is very expensive, but Cain Five is alot like it and not quite as expensive. Caymus Cabernet is also a very good hearty red wine with a full body and great flavor.

Ice wine.

Its made from grapes that are allowed to stay on the vine when frost occurs. This concentrates the sugar and so its a nice sweet wine. Since a lot of grapes are lost to the frost, the wine is a little on the expensive side. You can get a medium sized bottle for around $25-30 dollars. It is delicious and its my favorite wine.

Chateau Petrus 1962, drunk in 2002.
Chateau Leoville las Cases 1982

The first was a gift, probably cost $60 when released, worth about $300-$500 when drunk. The second bought as futures for about $30, worth about $250 or more when drunk. Rated at 100 pts by Wine Spectator.

Gluwein it fairly is a distinctly spiced purple table wine from Chateau Bianca in Dallas, Oregon. i've got enjoyed it warm with orange rind and cinnamon sticks, or chilled for a great dessert on a heat day. i think of lots of the ideal wines ever come from the Willamette Valley.

Banfi Chianti Classico. 14 euros

Of course, it was just as likely the dinner, or the company with us, or the scenery in Tuscany that made the wine memorable.
