Jimbo,
If you have not heard of the Council of Nicea, in 325 A.D., check it out. It was there and then, that the man made religion called Christianity, came into existence. Many of the original teachings of Jesus were lost. Several new aspects were added, many of them pagan in origin. One of those, was the idea of Jesus' sacrifice. If you read the old testament, you see God, both demanding sacrifices, and also inviting people to come to Him by the simple process of repentance. Moses, Elijah, and Enoch, all were translated into "Heaven" long before Jesus came to the earth. The Book we call the Bible, was written at the Council of Nicea. Jesus himself, never taught the doctrine of sacrifice for the atonement of sins. He simply forgave those whose hearts were right, and told them to sin no more. I believe that Jesus allowed Himself to be slain, so that He could demonstrate His power over life, and death. As to proving His greatness, it was never on the agenda. He was the most humble of men, and the greatest of men. He came to us, to give us a message, both simple, and elegant. "The Kingdom of God, is within you". If we come to God as humble children, and invite Him into our hearts, He sends His Spirit into us, and bonds with us. We become new creatures, part mortal, part immortal. Materialism and fear, fall away. Love and Wisdom, become the foundation of all our choices. This is what He came to teach us. It is up to each one of us, to decide if we will take the Creator as our Father, and step into Eternity.

That is an interesting point. If He's that great, why doesn't he prove that there is a quick and easy peace in the Middle East?
If God is all mighty, why did he come up with such a screwed up method of doing things? For example, why the need for blood sacrifice. It's unnecessary, brutal and stupid. Why isn't God as effective in his communication or as convincing as tobacco company advertising? If the trinity concept is real, how come Christians are still calling themselves mono-theists AND trinitarians? That's weird, illogical and irrational. Why is the creation story sooooo simple and the Father, Son, Holy Ghost concept soooo complex and illogical. Who impregnated Mary? Is it physically possible to be a virgin after having a baby? Did Mary really have a baby? Was Jesus a man or just God. Who was Jesus talking to in the garden?
Is it possible that all of the craziness in the Bible is similar to our tax code, which became more and more complex to protect special financial interests?

Would you take being beaten, then carrying your own crucifiction cross to your death site, KNOWING what would come, and would you die for all the people on the earth? I think not. Jesus came back to life to prove that he IS the TRUE Messiah, that death can be conquered, and that yes, there is only one true GOD. I feel sad for you, that you talk like this of Jesus. Whatever is going on in your life, think about his and what he did with it. Did he become bitter ? Did he run away and hide ? No, he stood up to the devil in the Garden of Gethsemane and gave his life for us. He didn't have to, he CHOSE to. As for your other "questions", well, sin is a continual thing, Jesus proved to us that we don't have to live with it or let it bring us down. We are only human, He was the only perfect person to EVER walk this earth. By his death and resurrection, we have been shown that there is life after sin, there is a source of everlasting life and love that forgives us, all we have to do is ask God to. Believing in Christ, being a Christian, does not make a person "holier than thou", it just means that that person owns up to their sins, admits that they cannot do it on their own and need continuous help the walk a path that is not easy. Laugh at this, mock this, but in the end, you will have to stand alone and be judged by God, without Jesus and faith, there will be no one there who's got your back. You know what hell is? It is not having the option to call out to God in your darkest moments, it is not having the option to ask forgiveness for your sins. It is knowing that that sick feeling in your stomach and the torment in your mind will not go away. Think about that, then get on your knees and cry, shout out to God all that you are sorry for and know, before it is too late, that he is there to help you.

For hundreds of years, the Jewish people had a prophecy that their "King" was going to come and defeat their enemies. They had kings a long time ago, when their country was powerful, but hadn't had kings in a really long time because they were being punished by God for worshipping idols instead of Him. So when Jesus came and said that HE was the one that was prophesized about, they didn't believe him because they were looking for a king that was glory and power and stuff, who was going to defeat their enemies. But the people didn't realize that the"enemy" to defeat was the death... the fact that you had to pay for what you did wrong (hell) not the neighboring countries.

The Jewish people were in a relationship with God where, if they did something wrong, they had to make up for it (PAY for it) by sacrificing an animal (which is their food supply, understand). Like, if every time you were bad you had to give God $40. Well, that's how it was. The problem was, that didn't make people learn how to be better, it just made then owe God a lot. They didn't love God and know Him,( like you know your best friend.)

So Jesus said he was the one. He performed miracles to prove it. And they killed him because they thought he was dangerous and lying. But that was all part of God's plan because Jesus never sinned, so he had nothing to pay for. So he paid for all of the human race's sins, according the the plan that was in place from the very beginning. Jesus is all the power of God in human form because God wanted to give people a way to relate to Him, to bring himself down to our level so that we can understand. Also, because only a person who had NEVER sinned could pay for all of ours.

So he came back to life to prove that he was the son of God, like the prophecy said, because death couldn't stop him. He doesn't need to be here anymore, proving his greatness. Either you believe he is the son of God, or you don't. That's the question that shaped the entire world for that moment on.

Jesus died the way we deserved to die for our sins. But as believers, there is symbolism in that although we may die once, those who've accepted Christ will be resurrected and given new life. He was trying to prove something, the resurrection was the ultimate proof of his divinity. He isn't here because he's giving us a chance to accept him before he comes back.

Hi friend
When Jesus gave His life,He gave a ransom the Bible says for the first man Adam. It was a perfect exchange. One perfect man for another perfect mans life. After He was risen he had a spiritual body, just as the angles in the old testament did when they materialized as men to talk to people like Lot and Abraham.
He returned back to his Father in Heaven as a spirit because the Bible says only spirit creatures can live in Heaven. So there is perfect sense. Hope I helped friend

He or She?

Church? Christianity? Jesus? Dying?

What is the Imacculate Conception supposed to mean?

(NOT A VIRGIN BIRTH! - Google Imacculate Conception. What else do you falsely believe? )

Jesus, the basis of Christianity? .

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Gods do not die? Do they?

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us? Big deal!

If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.

If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!

Life after death is like virginity after childbirth.

If the flesh of Jesus died, what was seen walking and talking on Sunday?

If you swallow this stuff, you are not going to like the folks who don't. You want them to swallow it too.

Christians want everyone to convert to their non-thinking in order to be 'saved'.

Believing and not thinking is like choosing a mental illness and becoming truly lost.

in the previous Jesus got here interior the flesh, we are advised that sinners who repented have been saved via faith interior the factitious slayed animal sacrifices defined via God. and prefer those of at present, they had to end sinning (that's what repenting skill). the actual atonement, besides the undeniable fact that, happened with appropriate timing whilst Jesus became the main suitable sacrifice those animals prefigured. So in the previous Jesus got here, the human beings regarded forward to the pass on a similar time as those after, look lower back to the atonement on the pass. for this reason, in a manner, you're precise: that is a similar for people who repent of their sins. for people who do no longer, there isn't any sacrifice or heaven. It somewhat does no longer have mattered whilst God could have chosen to deliver Jesus to earth yet being gracious as he's, He gave mankind each and every of the prophecies mandatory to help guy be conscious of the genuine Messiah and practice, as quickly as lower back, that God keeps His promises related to salvation and judgments. He could no longer have made those any clearer.
