A sauna has dry heat and a steam room has moist heat.

Similar benefits: both are good for relaxing your muscles by warming them and both can help your skin sweat out impurities.

If you suffer from chronically dry skin, a steam room can help moisturize your skin. Also, particularly if the steam is infused with eucalyptus or menthol, steam can help loosen congestion and relieve sinus pressure.

Funny - we were just talking about this at work today. Sweating and opening your pores allow your body to get rid of toxins - both achieve the same results. According to Scandinavian tradition, you're then supposed to run into icy water or snow to quickly shock your system and close your pores. Not sure about that last part, but using a sauna or steambath regularly is good for you. Just be sure to hydrate with water while you're doing it.

A sauna is dry heat, they both make you sweat and it cleans out your pores. Just run your fingernails down your skin after about 15 minutes and you will be disgusted at what was on your 'clean' skin

they both clear out your pores by making you sweat and, just a hint, after you open your pores in the sauna, it lifts out the dirt so they're clean,so then dive in a cool pool or something to close them up quickly.it really cleanses your skin, especially if you have acne or blackheads.
