That's a hard one My cat had the same habit I am in collage to be a vet I am on my laptop in my dorm so I am bored just answering questions. So back to your problem It depends if your cat is an indoor cat or an outdoor cat or both If she is an indoor cat I would remove all plastics and put them all in a cabinet if she is outdoor there is nothing I can say but I can help if she is both this is what I did with my cat Izzabella (Izzi or Iz for short) When you go to work remove all plastics inside and put them where she cant get them and leave her inside all day and let her out when you are home and just keep an eye on her.
P.S Good luck and if it doesn't work I recommend a vet!
Good luck!

Make sure there isn't any plastic in her environment. Get her some toys to play with that she can't eat and rub catnip on them if she is attracted to it so that she will play with them. Put her in a pet carrier where she will be safe during the time you can't be with her. Don't let her have or eat anything plastic since it could cause a serious digestive problem. You could put bitter apple on plastic items so she won't like the taste

Make sure she doesn't have access to anything plastic while she can't be supervised. Tin foil works great to discourage them from going somewhere you don't want them. They HATE the feeling on their feet and will avoid it. Can you distract her with some other toy while you're gone? I wouldn't give her access to the whole house while you're gone, just a room. She sounds bored, go to the pet store and find a toy that will give her a challenge and keep her busy while you are away. They make toys that hold treats and they have to figure out how to get them out to eat the treat. That plastic she is eating can cause an intestinal blockage and possibly kill her.

I have the same problem from my almost 2 yr old feline!
So--I can recommend to you that I have tried to go through the whole house and rid it of any plastics that are available to his reach---so hopefully this will help you as well!
Put all the things that tempt her up in cabinets where she cannot get to--and make sure you don't have any at her level like underneath furniture etc=
I haven't found any other way to stop this problem--besides making all plastic very scarce!

I think its normal... cats can be oddballs, one of my cats likes paper and plastic and the other loves all things wicker to scratch and chew up.... Last week my cat literally opened my mail, I put it on the counter and he jumped up there to attack the little plastic window on the envelope! If your cat is attracted to certain thing (like plastic cords) then spray them lightly with spray from the petstore. they make a few different ones. Check out bitter apple spray or the no stay furniture spray. Good luck!

this is definitely uncomplicated for cats. in assessment to canines, cats want a sparkling, working water source. think of "cool mountain streams". you have a pair of techniques on your kitty to stop waking you up at evening. First, attempt the puppy shop. seek for a plug-in or battery-operated water fountain. a variety of of cats won't drink from a bowl, so agencies all started making fountains for them. They run approximately $70 around right here. 2d, bypass to a recent shop and purchase a table-top fountain. you be responsive to, those with the rocks in them and that they are meant to be calming and soothing? those regularly run approximately $40. do exactly no longer forget approximately to alter the water in many cases and supply the fountain a sturdy cleansing! in any different case, you would be getting as much as teach the faucet on besides.

Keep plastic out of her reach or keep her confined in a room, with food, water and litter box, that has been plastic proofed while you're not home. Keep her entertained by hiding food treats around the room.
btw(in response to those advising to put her outdoors)... dont put her outside-thats asking for heartache

Use pepper. This is what you do.
Dissolve cooking pepper into water. Once this is done, rub it around plastic, or anything crackly. Your cat should taste it and hate it. Do this a couple times, maybe with different objects, so that she realizes they aren't good anymore.

Try to keep anything like that out of her area that she can get to. While at work you might have to reduce her area she roams. Might try rubbing something plastic with bar soap and let her have it. The bad taste might ward her off. It works for electrical cords.
