It sounds a little more like the flu (not like throwing up or anything, but the backache and neckache). Try giving her pedialyte and some tylenol and see how she does. If the fever does not go down with medication, call the doctor. You may want to do so anyway since a fever can be a sign of heat exhaustion. Keep her as cool as you can (be careful, because too much cold can put her into shock). If there is a 24 hour advice line or something, be sure to give that a call. They'll tell you what to do or don't do, and tell you if you need to go to the hospital. If the symptoms get worse, take her to the doctor right away.

Dehydration is often treated with an IV of fluids. My daughter became dehydrated when she had the flu once. She was throwing up and had the runs and couldn't replace the water she was losing these other ways. The doctors told us to watch to see if she started becoming sluggish. She did and we took her to the ER. Dehydration can cause damage to the crucial organs so you don't want to mess around. Seeing a two-year old get an IV was tough. We had to lay with her on the stretcher in the ER and make sure she didn't remove the needle from her arm. We were there for like 4 hours.
If your daughter is running a fever, I don't think that typically is a sign of dehydration, although it can contribute to losing fluids. Her temperature sounds like it is getting pretty hot. I'd see the doctors ASAP just to find out what is going on.

There's about 50 different things she COULD have. It could be something as simple as too much sun, to something more serious. But doctors recommend, any fever over 100 needs to be checked. Either at the ER or call your doctor's office. Most offices nowdays have a 24 hour message service, and they will go over several questions with you about her activities over the weekend and her symptoms, then give you the best advice. Be sure and check her body for any ticks. Also, let the doctor know if you were in an area that has had reports of birds with West Nile.

she may just have swollen nodes. give her motrin and tylenol alternate so you give one dose of motrin then when its time for med give tylenol. This stacking helps make fever go down . Ok here is the test does it hurt if she puts her chin to chest. can she even do that? if not then she needs to see a doc ASAP to be tested for mennigitis. Now kids will run high temp's at night that is just what they do. If the fever gets higher or will not go down with the meds take her to the doctor.
is her throat red? could be a virus look at foot and mouth virus it causes blisters in the throat anyhow camping is a great way to get this and causes all the symptoms you have described. All you can do is force fluids they will clear up in 7 days.
But it can also be strep then you will see a red throat with white patches on it. This means you need a antibotic.

She could have the mumps.
Even if she has had immunizations there is a chance she could still get them.
Is she vomiting?
Does she have bumps behind her ears around the back of the jaw?
Does she have a rash anywhere on her body?
She has a fever?
She has neck pain?
Check if she has any of these symptoms and if she does than take her to the doc. and see. The mumps usually will clear up with lots of good care.
Hope ur daughter feels better. :-)

ALWAYS, ALWAYS CALL the DOCTOR! Call him now if you haven't already.
If your child is sick, you can always call the doctors office. They will tell you whether you need to bring the child in or if they can tell you over the phone what you should do. But really, your description sounds serious. Why in the world would you spend the time to ask that question here instead of calling a medical professional?
I hope it turns out well.

But how long has she had the fever and how high has it gotten.. have you tried cold compressions on her head , on her chest, under her arms and on the insides of her legs? or a alcohol bath...if these don't work with my kids i take them to the doctor or try giving Motrin or Tylenol fever..... i hope she feels better....

You may want to call the doctors office and see if there is an advise nurse. they will ask all of your childs informations then advise you if you should be seen tonight or just treat her at home.

Why are you busy asking about this on the net instead of taking her to the doctor/hospital? If you were really concerned about her, you would not be asking on Yahoo!! No offense, but what is the logic in that?
