Christians shouldn't be hateful when talking about their beliefs or about the beliefs of others. I have seen some Christians get frustrated when talking to others, which may come across as hateful.
As Christians, we were told by Christ to go out and spread His message of redemption. By the way, this wasn't a request that Christ asked us to do; this was a commandment that Christ TOLD us to do. And it should be done in a loving, respectful way.
If we as Christians try to spread God's message in a fighting, hateful way, all we're going to do is push people in the opposite direction.

I'm pretty calm and am alright with questions, I think it's really healthy to question, I get upset when people write and call me stupid because of how I believe and get belligerent. I even had someone write to my e-mail and call me stupid!
Some of the questions on here about the Bible or being a Christian are slamming Christianity, and this is upsetting. A good polite question I have no problem with, I remember taking walks with a good friend questioning everything that I knew and we talked about it. This is growth, this is good. Some of the questions are from angry people and they are insulting, and aren't nice at all.

I don't know what you consider hateful, but I, for one, do not purposely spout hatred. However, I will point out where the belief does not mesh with mainstream Christianity or where I feel you are wrong as needed.
I look forward to people questioning me on how I believe, that allows me to tell them the good news that I have.

I'm a Christian and I don't think I'm hateful! I feel every one makes a choice whether to do good or to do bad.All denominations have their own pet peeve. Some work so hard at trying to make others believe the same things as they do,they loose sight of what being a Christian is.They argue over trivial things. To me it's sort of like rowing a boat,we all want to get to the same destination and every one thinks the way they row the boat is the only way to get there!.I think it doesn't matter how you row your boat, slow, fast, take a break... as long as you end up at your desired destination.

I'm a Christian and there are days that I'm ashamed to be one because of people who abuse the message for thier own agenda. A true Christian will not be hateful or un-accepting of people. I try to accept people and thier ideas/beliefs because people do not want to be tolorated, they want to be accepted. So, I'm sorry if you think all Christians are hateful. I hope that my response will change your opinion a little. Or at least give you something to think about. :-)

You must be talking to a lot of Evangelicals or Biblical literalists. They get very testy when confronted with the contradictions in the Bible and the contradictions of their beliefs. Some of the rest of us manage to accept all this as part of the wonder of Faith.

A lot of people love to twist religion to fulfill an agenda that is detrimental to the actual beliefs or to fit their own needs whether right or wrong.

The sinful human side of us wants to believe that whatever group we are a part of is the genuie one. Therefore, though it should not be, things like this will happen. It is all just a part of God allowing sin to be played out by satan. In the end all shall see that God is love.

Nope, I am not hateful toward other beliefs,,,I just don't agree w/ the Mormon belief or Jehovah witness belief,,,but I am not "hateful" toward those people,, I just keep my comments to myself and not join in on religious controversies.
