Up to now, no one has actually answered your question correctly. There are a lot of people that don't know the answer to this question. Well, here is the answer for you: You are your soul. That's right; the you inside your body. If I cut off my arms, legs, etc., I am still the same person inside of the body - no matter how much of my body is missing, my soul - the real me - is still the same. Therefore, the body is only a holder of your soul not the other way around. When the soul leaves the body, you die. I told my sons that when I die, I want them to put a sign on my grave saying, "This is only the shell, the real nut's in Heaven". Once my soul leaves my body, it will be with the Lord in Heaven. My body is only a physical carriage for my soul. So, my friend, the truth is that the "you" inside of your shell is your soul. The you that thinks, feels, cries, laughs, prays, etc. is your soul. The you that knows deep in your heart that you have a soul means that you are wise to know that it is really you. You are your soul. May the Lord shine His light for you to see Him and know His wishes for you. You belong to the Lord if you accept His sacrifice and His will for your life. Thank you for your question from one soul to another. Amen.

wow, good question... it resides in the body probably in the mind because when it is dead clinically you are consitered dead. When the heart stops it takes 15 minutes or so for the brain to die enough to not be able to bring you back. See, so stopping the heart will nor cause you to depart. I read a article in Readers digest several years ago where scientists were trying to find when the soul leaves the body at death and if it can be detected. Well, what they found was that at the exact moment of death the body would lighten (weigh less) by a few grams in that instant. They concluded that it was the soul leaving the body and returning to God. As far as being in our breath well, at creation God did breath life into Adam which gave him life and put a soul into him, but that was the only time that God did that, eve was taken from Adam, and everyone else was born from her through natural childbirth. Guess what I'm saying God did it all way back then. Life now is what they call pro-created through natural means sex, conception, birth, death - and so is the cycle of life.

This is a very good question - but since God made us and gave us a soul and spirit - No one - let me repeat - NO ONE will be able to give the correct answer.

none of the above, the body is a counter part of the soul, your soul is connected to your body at all, its more like a r/c car where the controller is off ibn left field while the car is upto bat. its kinda confusing, but life connects the soul to the body, and when you die your soul seperates from your body. death is actually tghe seperation of the 2, not a lack of pulse or brain.

Your soul is bigger than your breath, heart or mind. It is your entire "spiritual being". It is what is left when your body no longer exists. Umm...your body is your souls portal so to speak. I don't think it necessarily resides anywhere like in your nose or bicep or big toe or something. :)

It is that part that is within us that God gave to us and will never die. For the Bible said God breathed and Man became a living soul.

well lets see, our hearts is part of something physical! and our breath is part of our bodies, and our minds is the symbol of our mechanical system to the body. and when we die... all of thise rots and returns to the ground. so i must say that human beings have a third part of them... a part that isnt physical but spiritual! and we call this the soul. our souls are encompassed by this flesh only.

I think our breath mind and heart are the ignition key to our soul, I think it is part of how we LOVE, Think of the emotion, joy, and mystery when we experience true love.

Just think of it as radio waves, where your body is the transmitter and God has the TV.
If your show is a good one he will cut out the commercial breaks and save it, if its a poor show or a sucky transmission he will just delete it...
