Two things to start: 1. If you want people to take you seriously, don't dumb them down, especially not arrogant politicians, and don't use profanity. While profanity does show your feelings, it does nothing to get a serious, professional politician to listen to you. 2. Your views are obviously clear black and white, but you're offering nothing new. To get someone's attention, you need to give them something they haven't all heard before. MySpace really isn't the place to start either.

While your views are concise and agree with what most Americans feel, you make it sound so simple, while it is not. Politicians are what they are. They don't listen to the few, they listen to the many-the many people that offer the most tax money that is. Another thing is that politicians just don't feel that immigration is really a major issue, because we let it die. To them, it was just another soap-box issue between the conservative and the liberal citizens. They realize that people don't care enough to change anything. So they're not going to waste their time working on something if it's not going to make them look good(I'm generalizing, of course).

If you want to be listened to, and not just heard, you must be professional, and you must get power on your side. You need to hand your ideas to someone who will listen and then have them support you in your quest. The only way we're ever going to have anything done about this border problem is if we all write to our representatives. The same problem exists with the FairTax plan, but you see it's growing in popularity because powerful and well-known people are getting on board. They're telling people to contact their representatives and the people are doing just that. Border control would be a major change, and deserves strong attention.

I only disagree with one thing, in particular. Forcing renters to ask for a greencard or proof of citizenship everytime they rent a house is not feasible. If you really knew what it took for companies to look up immigration status of an individual they are hiring, you would understand. It takes time and money. Companies ask the individual if they are legally allowed to work in this country, but do not always ask for proof. That would require racial profiling, which is a major no-no in this country. They simply send off a request for citizenship status along with a required fee, and wait, hoping for the best, while the individual continues to work. A renter would have to either racially profile or ask everyone who rents from them for proof of citizenship. That would be remarkably hindering. Besides, it's not the renter's job to control the borders, that's the federal government's job...sort of.

Anyway, keep up the good fight, and try to be a little more professional, if you want people to listen. Have a nice day.

I think every one has an opinion, but the right opinion comes from God Almighty. There is a reason why God Almighty let certain things happen, and the reason mexicans are in America, comes from a prayer I asked God Almighty about, Lord Jesus let them some of them over here, because I don't want to go over there, just so they can learn the true meaning of the miracle of gaudalupe, plus, let them get a job and send money to their families, because none of those people will ever get any of the money the U.S. president gives to the Mexican president. The prophecy of the weeping statues of Jesus mother, and the appearing of Jesus mother in spirit, is a warning, that out of the office of the Pope will come the Beast of the Earth. I am leader of the Gentiles, yetmy people during the grace of God is trying to rob me with disbelief, and then expect me to fight the enemny so they become strong in being against myself, just like a baby christian, they don't know know better, therefore I can't expect know better. I agree with you. I don't understand why people can't distinguish between immigration and illegal immigration. (Though I have to say a lot of people who are anti-illegal immigration are actually racists who use this issue as a chance to spout their hatred, so perhaps some people see only that and object to that issue.)

I'm all for immigration. My husband will immigrate to the US some day. We currently live in China, so we haven't applied for a visa for him, but when we do, we will do it LEGALLY!!! We are both LEGALLY living in China. I wouldn't dream of trying to live here illegally, and if I did and was deported, I would hang my head and accept the consequences. I can't imagine the logic that would have me saying, "No fair! You can't make me leave." (Refugees are another matter.)

It is true that it isn't as easy for people to immigrate to the US these days, but that is because we don't have low unemployment. Every country needs to weigh the population against the availability of jobs. When unemployment drops to nearly zero, countries loosen their immigration policies so that there are people to fill open positions. When there is unemployment it would be poor government to let a lot of new people in who won't have jobs on top of the citizens who already don't have jobs. Canada has recently loosened its immigration restrictions because they need more people. There are other considerations to immigration, but this is the number one consideration. Every government is worried about allowing in people who will become a burden on society, so they only allow in people who are independently wealthy, who are foreign investors, or who can do a job that is not being filled by the citizenry, whether that is skilled labor or unskilled labor.

The US can't afford to let in legal immigrants who want to respect the laws of the country and enter the country legally because there will be no jobs for those people. If all the illegal immigrants were gone, legal immigrants and US citizens could take those jobs. Those jobs would pay a legal wage. It's a catch 22. As long as the illegal aliens are working illegally, legal immigration will be more difficult. As long as legal immigration is difficult, illegal immigration will continue at its current pace. But, though it may hurt US citizens somewhat, it hurts the illegal workers the most. They are being exploited, so I agree with your stance on punishing the employers. They are the real criminals here. I think that is the only way we will be able to staunch the flow of illegal aliens. Make it impossible for them to get jobs. Then loosen the restrictions on legal immigration.

Those illegal immigrants who say it is too hard or that it takes too long really tick me off. They are like the people who drive on the shoulder to cut the line to access the interstate, or the kids who break line in the cafeteria. Is their time more important than the people who have been waiting patiently, or even impatiently in line? Not only are they thumbing their noses at all those people, they are making the line longer for those people who have been following the rules.

While I feel for illegal aliens and understand how fortunate I have been in my life, I don't think there is any excuse for illegal immigration. My husband comes from one of the poorest countries in the world (Benin in West Africa) and he was not among the richest of that country. Is he not as significant as all those people who have broken the law of the country they claim they want to live in?

Somewhat simplistic, but we have to start somewhere. In my humble opinion, the place to start is at homeland security! WE must seal the borders all the way around this country, unfortunately. That would mean far fewer illegals coming in. AS for illegals here, set up a work paper program. ANY and ALL illegals who break the law, gangs, etc....immediate prison in US...big time. NO deportation, no 2nd chances, no do-overs...immediately to prison...and the nastiest of the bunch. Treat illegals as we would be in their country.
It will take years to straigthen out this mess, but we have to start somewhere. One place to start would be to seal the borders to Cuba....any and all Cubans who can reach our soil are automatically taken in! We have lost Florida to Cuba, that is more than enough. There is NOTHING that makes Cubans special in my book.

I totally agree! Especially with the part about the hospitals. My sister has been married for 28 years to a man from Monterey, Mexico. She told me all about how they have to go to the hospital for very minor things such as headaches. Give me a break! Take some advil and shut up!

I completely agree.
America was founding by pionerring, hard working, determined immigrants who just wanted a better life for themselves and their families.
However, nowdays many peole travel to amrerica, become illegal immigrants and take advantage of this, willingly becoming "burdens of society". These are the poeple who discrase America and it's founders...and should be kicked out of our country.

This is blatantly untrue!

If all else fails, and I can't get a job, I'll just collect welfare, and let the taxpaying US citizens pay for my living expenses.

Illegals can't get assistance of any type!

After looking at it you make too many assumptions with no support.

I have noticed how those who used to refer to Mexicans as Illegal, leave Mexican off so they can't be called a racist! We know who you are talking about so don't try and smoke screen it with a bunch of gibberish!

It's not as easy for any minority to immigrate to this country as it was for our white ancestors. Do you really think all these people would risk life and limb crossing the border if it was any easier for them to come here legally?
