You could mix them in like in Reader's Digest. Just something to pep it up between the geneologies.

They didn't laugh about religion back in the day. I just read a book about da Vinci painting the Last Supper. One monk was ready to burn him at the stake just because he didn't put halos over the participants' heads. They wouldn't go for jokes in the same place with God then.

Hey, it does say that, "the Lord in heaven laughs" . And If I had to watch what goes on here on Earth, I think I would be laughing too. Especially when all these nations run around plannin their big attacks against God's chosen people. He knows what is going to happen. Kinda funny eh?

Consider Christ's comment on the blind leading the blind. 'If the blind be leaders of the blind, they shall both fall into the ditch.'
I don't consider Christ to be a stand-up comedian, but I believe that with all the other methods he used for teaching people, this may have been an example of when he added a little humor to help get the point across; pick wise leaders.

I think the story of Jonah is a good one because
after Jonah went through Nineveh preaching that God would destroy them,he went and found a gourd plant to sit under while he waited on God to destroy them.Nineveh repents and God spares them.Jonah doesn't like it and pouts,God has the gourd drop on his head because he wanted to get Jonah's attention that if he had mercy on him with a gourd it is for him to have mercy on Nineveh that repented.
Maybe you'd just have to read it for yourself.

there is plenty of humour in the bible - just that some of it can get overlooked due to translation and cultural shifts

think of some of the parables that Jesus said? like the one about the man with the plank in his own eye trying to remove the speck of dust out of another mans eye? that does conjure a humourous picture to me.

If you don't think God has a sense of humor, you really haven't given enough thought as to why He had to make farts happen between the a** cheeks and not from our ears!

There is a lot of humor in the bible...you just have to read it.

Oh, and have a sense of humor!

Grace to you and God Bless!!!

((I know God likes a warped and twisted sense of humor, he made mine!))
