Your question presumes that the Biblical story of creation is correct. Whereas there is no scientific evidence to support that claim you would be better off considering evolution as the source of mankind as well as all other living things. As umbilical cords are necessary for the growth of all human embryos, the first humans (as well as the mammals from whom we evolved) must have had them. Perhaps you have an inquiring mind though. If so, your time would be much better spent studying science than religion. Science does not deny the existence of God by the way. It just does not accept it as a foregone conclusion. If God exists and is knowable we will come to know Him through science, not religion.

Good question. Seemed like they didn't. Since God made Adam and Even as the first pair of humans, they were never attached with umbilical cords. Then again, perhaps God would have thought of the awkward situation where by they might have in future that He made both of them with navals.

Yes, I think God gave them each a belly button even though they were not born from a womb. I guess the belly button gene needed to be passed on...

Wow, is it time for this stupid question to make the circuit again?

You know, I have seen this question, or a variant, at least 8 times today alone.

But why don't you use some of your supposed logic. Created, NOT born. . . did they NEED an umbilical cord?

This has got to be one of the dumbest questions around.

I think that Adam was born. His mother was a goddess. She was implanted with a genetically engineered human embryo. Eve was created when one of Adam's ribs was removed. I'm under the impression that they were both anatomically identical to us.

yes but their bellybuttons weren't the product of umbilical cords. they were from when god poked them in the belly like the pillsbury doughboy.

Probably not. That is a product of birth but I am not losing sleep over it. This has become a sort of silly debate in some communities.

Thanks - Blessings!

When God made man, he made them complete; just like the offspring they would have. That's the way I see it.

You know, I never thought of that. It's possible that he (and Eve) didn't have one. I commend you on such an original question.
