I posted a sarcastic question about my own religion but deleted it because people seem to freak out too easily.. they take it too seriously, they curse, they yell, they make threats, they fall down and can't get up. Can we not find humor in religion anymore... especially our own?? I personally find many things to laugh about but that doesn't decrease my faith any more... if anything, it strengthens it because I know God has a good sense of humor. Why does everything have to be so end-of-the-worldish?? lighten up people!

i personally think i have a very good sense of humour. but osmetimes the things about religion ppl take very seriously. i dont take religion very seriously at all. i read the other thing u posted i thought u were crazy. i didnt realize u were making it a joke. but it is pretty funni. and ur rite. ppl do need to lighten up a bit. but sometimes ppl take religion very very very seriously wich sux to me but hey wat can u do.

I think it is a good thing to have humor. Let me ask a question - Does anyone think that God laughs? Or how about doesn't think that? If we think that God is some stern figure that wants to kick us in the rear and has no emotions then we are sadly mistaken.

We can see where Jesus was sarcastic and that is no further then in the New Testament, the Book of Mark. (Brood of Vipers?) That my dear friends is sarcasm.

Let us go to the Old Testament, let us take a look at the Book of Job. God is laying down the sarcasm to Job and Job really has nothing to say. God is not some sweet innocent man that was punished! He is a man that wants to lay down the law and then when time comes laugh and party with those who are not perfect.

We must remember, God created ALL of MANKIND and gave us a wide range of emotions (Sadness, Laughter, Joy, Happiness....) Geeze if we do not express those emotions then we act out in ways that God sees as evil and takes away from who we truly are!

I bet anyone who actually sits and studies the Bible will find that God does have a sense of humor and is sarcastic. He is loving and can lay down heavy punishment. So, in closing my brothers and sisters, please do not be offended to what a man or woman says, stand with them, laugh with them. Be either a MAN or a WOMAN of GOD!

I think God has a sense of humor. Look at some of the animals He created. Also in Numbers 22:22-35, God gives a donkey the gift of speech.

I agree that God has a sense of humor. We are made in his image and I definatley love a good laugh. Yeah I even laughed at someone in church before. My pastor said on Sunday we should never take life so seriously that we focus on all the wrong things, nor should we be so lax that we waste our lives away. So a little fun is ok!

I believe that religion can not exist without comedy. My church is filled with funny people. Our preacher tells jokes in his sermons. Just three weeks ago we had a comedian come to our church. His name was something Swonger. "We can tell that God has a sense of humor, he made you." (Something my pastor said to someone in my church) I constantly make jokes on Catholics, Baptists, etc. and, being a Christian, my fellow believers laugh a lot. "What goes 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4? The age of a priest's boyfriends." (A joke I said in Sunday school. 5 people laughed, 3 people stared, one cranky old lady got mad. Who cares about the cranky old ladies?)

You are living proof that God has a sense of humor.

I think comedy in religion is fine, as long as everyone is on the same page. But, everyones idea of funny is different, so in a group where there is a lot of different religions and opinions, this might not be the place for it.

Do you watch South Park? It is full of joke about Christianity. Do you watch standup comics? Most of them throw in a joke or two about Jesus. I am a Christian and personally I laugh like hell when I watch these shows. From your name I guess you are Muslim, do you remember the Danish cartoons? I don't know why Muslims overreact to anything said about there religion!

Actually, I have heard a few Christian comedians and found them entertaining and quite fun to listen to.

One of my favorites involved a story about this girls mother, advising her to never nag at her new husband.

She told her that she must pray for him, never nag. However it was perfectly ok to pray out loud for him over and over again in his presence!!

IT is good clean humor and I do enjoy a laugh along with most other people, even if it about ourselves and our ever present humanity.

The things people do in the name of religion is what's funny. Go to a Pentacostal church and see what I mean. No offense, I used to belong to a Pentacostal church. Thought it was funny then and think so now.

Most people are too sacrosanct about their religion. My God laughs, he must to listen to me all the time. God is not super sensitive about himself or his ways, but there are things that should not be made light of.

I think he has a sense of humor at least I hope he does every time I see lightning I tell him he missed
