My kitty has had diahrrea (sp) for a few days, and we're getting tired of cleaning it. What are some home remedies that can cure this? Also, what could be the cause of this..?

I say take the baby to the VET. I hope your kitty is better. I like cats.

About Diarrhea - Diarrhea is the condition when your pet has three (3) or more uncontrolled evacuations of loose or watery stools within a 24-hour period. Diarrhea could be the result of two (2) different situations: A) The colon or large intestine is producing excessive amounts of fluid, or B) The colon or large intestine does not absorb enough of the fluids passing through it. There are many possible underlying causes of diarrhea, such as viral infections, food poisoning, gastrointestinal upset, dysentery, disease, emotional stress, Giardiasis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and Clostridium Difficile Colitis just to name a few. NOTE: It is very important to keep your pet from becoming dehydrated, as severe dehydration may require hospitalization.

What has your vet tried? Constant diarrhea means something is not right. I can see stress for a few days but wonder if its not something else. Older cats can get inflammatory bowel disease but you dont say how old we are. There aren't many medicines that work for cat like Imodium. You might want to try changing to an easier to digest food from your vets or a product called VBG for cats. If it continues I may want to find another vet that can help.

Oh yes.. Are you giving it milk? If so.. stop it immediately as your cat might be lactose intolerant.. Hope it gets well because I dread hearing of a sick doggie or kitty

Take the poor cat to the vet before it dies. You obviously are not an animal lover. If my dog had diarrhea for more than a day, he would be at the vets office. It could be a sign of something serious.

Take your pet to the vet definitely. Also are you feeding the kitten milk or any dairy products (cream, etc.)? These are bad for kittens and will cause diarrhea. Try dry kitten food only not canned food (or any dairy products) until you get your pet checked out.

Feed it better quality food. I give mine IAMS. Good cat foods will list meats as the first ingrediants.

Well, usually a trip to the vet and a stool sample is in order!!!!!
Do not try any remedies until you know what is and what is not wrong!!!!!!!!!!
