My fiance loves steaks. I want to take him to a romantic restaurant. He is working very hard on our house by remodeling by himself for a month now every single day after work, during the weekends, and still takes time for me and the children individually for quality time. he is exhausted. I want to treat him to his favorite dish. Help me!

How important is the "buffet" aspect of this dinner?
For the best steak dinner in NY...hands down, Peter Lugars in Brooklyn. Absolutely the best steak in NYC...period. But its not a buffet. ...and its expensive and they don't take credit cards. So bring cash.
If the buffet its important...go to
Churrascaria Plataforma
316 West 49th Street, Belvedere Hotel, (b/w 8th & 9th)
New York City, NY 10019
Its an all-you-can-eat Brazilian Rodizio resturant. Excellent steak and grilled meats....It gets great reviews.
By the way, neither place is very romantic...actually not romantic at all.
Good luck!

Can't help for steak houses, but buffets, yes. The buffets focus on vegetables.
If you like Indian food, then there's Sapphire. It is open for lunch during the week until 2:45. They have various dishes, mosly vegetables, chicken, lamb (sorry no beef). They are located on 62nd and Broadway on the west side of the street. Unlimited dessert also.
Turkish buffet for Sunday brunch - Turquaz - at 100th Street and Broadway (again the west side of the street). There is an amazing array of dishes (again mostly vegetables). Unlimited dessert also.
For soul food, there's Copeland's. They have fried chicken, salmon, salad, dessert.
