Well there isn't a requirement that says you need to, so if its not your thing then that's cool. Alot of people will say, get a friend, but uhhh that wouldn't be masturbation now would it?!
So, if you want to try it out, then you have to just be patient with yourself and learn your body. By this I mean, check yourself out. Use a mirror, get to know you. Use your hands to explore your body and if something feels good, see if it feels really good if you do it some more. If not, then move on. Try wetting your fingers (with water, your mouth, lube, whatever). The different sensation might appeal to you. Touch anyplace you feel comfortable touching...if it feels good, its likely to feel good if you do it more. Experiment with the sensation and see if you can make it feel better. You can gain alot of pleasure from just touching places outside your body. If you feel comfortable going inside, then try that too. You'll learn alot about what you like and don't like...what feels good for you and what doesn't.
Its just you, so who better to explore your body. If you try it out and it doesn't work out, then that's ok too. No worries!

It is a waste of time until you discover the right toy for you. i found a ton of great toys online - they ship them discreetly - from all the sites I've delt with. Noone will ever know what is in the package by looking at it. Toys are definately the way to go -- it opened a whole new world to me. Try my fav place to get em...... It's never a waste of time if your doing it right. Go out and buy yourself a toy that has a nice attachment and you will get the hang of it. Oh yeah get good batteries!!!
