Regardless of legality they are human beings and deserve to be treated as such.Nobody should be discriminated against for race, religion, creed OR LEGALITY.There are countless illegals that are rebuiling the areas affected by Katrina and Rita. And I want to point out that you didn't mention that Mexico sent some of their soldiers to New Orleans after Katrina to help.Mexicans (in Mexico) also sent monetary donations and contributed what they could.

The city of New Orleans politicians and the State politicians have been aware of the shortcomings of their levee system for decades.

Both chose to put off and put off infrastructure upkeep and instead spent billions on both corruption and to develop the "sin city" image of Bourbon Street, the French Quarter and Mardis Gras.

New Orleans, despite the comparisons is not a Third world place with no resources to protect itself from Mother Nature.

The people and leadership there dim as they are, surely realized that a hurricane was not an "If" but a "When"!

Bush is to fault for lots of things, but he did not make the rain fall and he did not make Louisiana ignore its own civil planning.

And he had no reason to screw up in the aftermath as Louisiana is a red state.

And I think everyone should help in the case of disaster.

They should help relocate the people of New Orleans to better place, and let the swamp reclaim its own.

Come on, you guys can find a better place to live than that. The hurricanes are only going to get stronger and more frequent.

where to begin. of course everyone is entitled to help so why is it I as a white woman who works for a living has a 20 year old daughter in a auto accident who can't get a wheelchair cause she doesn't have money but her drunk boyfriend who was driving got a free lawyer he is mexican by the way. The point is I am really sick about hearing how racist people are because there is just as much going against us upper l;ower class white people. So maybe people need to gather a little more facts before claiming racism. Fed up with all the whining about racist.

Did you no that all those credit cards that were handed out, for people to by things that they needed, were used for gambling, trips, luxury items, big screen TV's, drugs and other stupid things, they ripped of the American taxpayer to the tune of millions, that card was to help them pay rent, clothes for their kids, food and to help them get started in another city. Most of the people blew the money. Mayor was incompetent, and so was the Governor, people cannot rely on the government to get them out of trouble and then call it racists. The people that were left behind were people that did not listen. and they did not ask if you were legal or illegal. All the people I seen were people that were born here. and when they started rescuing people they rescued everyone. and they didn't ask their legal status. Where did you get that information.

If I hear one more story why Bush waited three days to learn about Katrina because he didn't want his vacation interuppted -

IMPEACH HIM ALREADY!

And another thing - you know nothing about all the American volunteers building communities for charity all over the world!!

Peace Corp, Red Cross, Salvation Army, the ones that build homes, etc...maybe not all overseas, but can you tell me any global charity that starts in Mexico by Mexicans?

They just announced they want no part of the next Olympics!

Hello! There was plenty of warning and ways out of it. People please, nothing is free in life you have to take care of yourselves. If your warned get the hell on the bus. Did you also notice all the people in the water attached to tires, branches....etc. couldn't let go of their liquor and were more interested in TV's, clothes, dvd's, than food or water.
