This is the best I could find online:

I just got an Inspiron that also has the program 924PLC32. I also found it strange that it is 4Gb in size. I tried getting software help from Dell, but they didn't know what it was. My guess is that it is the Symantec System Restore function which restores your computer to its original operating state. I requested that XP OS cds be sent to me, and once these arrive, I am going to try and delete that program to see what happens. I will let you know when I find out.

I agree with the suggestion that it's a restore file.
Hope this helps.

If you are talking about the name of a folder I would leave it alone. Sounds like you are trying to free up some hard drive so you have more storage right? It might be something your computer uses in case the operating system needs to be restored. Don't remove random files from your computer just because you don't know what it is. Unless you don't mind paying someone to fix your computer. There are about a million and one things on your computer that you don't need. You don't need them but your computer does. You need your computer so let it have what it needs and quit exploring the harddrive wondering what this and that is. If it's in Windows leave it alone unless you have gone to school to learn what you are doing. I'm just saying all this because this is the kind of questions some people I know ask just before they screw up their machine and I have to fix it.

put your cursor over it and see what it says about it, or, right click and then click on properties, it'll tell you what it is..
that is, if it's a file on your desktop.
