Today it is chocolate cake, frosted, with ice cream on the side. I would settle for carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and that brickle cake sounds really good, too.
Why? You said it already, soft, moist, with gooey frosting.
Make brownies, and you can have the best of all worlds: moist, chocolaty, warm. Warm up some cherry pie filling and top the brownie with it, and you almost have pie!

It all depends on the day. On good days I like pie, bad days I like cake. But give me a blueberry pie or a Heath Bar cake and I can promise neither will go to waste, well maybe my waist.

In the winter I would say pie.
Warm apple pie with one scoop vanilla ice cream.

In the summer, the biggest piece of chocolate cake you have ever seen! Cool and moist!

Both comfort desserts, both yummy in the right season.

i'm the owner of three lodges and a million of them has a eating place in it. real now, i'm engaged on a pie that has 3 flavors: maple, apple, and island rum. The island rum has many fruit flavors. What we don't comprehend is that if we'd desire to continuously make the pie with maple and rum and placed the apples on the suitable. we are having a significant guy over from Chicago and we'd choose to get this in simple terms real.

I consider pie to be a comfort food, because it reminds me of the holidays, like pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving, it reminds me of family. Cakes, that's usually associated with birthdays, plus, cakes, are much easier to screw up, you can ruin a cake with nasty sugary frosting. It's hard to screw up a pie unless you burn it. Unless it's a strawberry chocolate cheesecake, PIE, PIE all around. :)

I like cake. For the exact way you described it. I had a 4 layer white cake with cream cheese icing and raspberry filling over the weekend. It was divine!

DodgerBlueFan has it right--pie a la mode! You get the sweet taste of the pie, along with the cold, creamy (and sweet) ice cream -- it doesn't get any better than that!

Pie. The contrast between warm, luscious filling and the flakey crust makes it. And cakes are sometimes too sweet.

pie!!! warm or cold, but I can't stand frosting on cakes. I mean whipped cream frosting is really good, but everything else is just too...gross! peach or rasberry pie to be exact. yellow cake is good plain.
