I've also seen some Protestants that not only reject all of the Old Testament, but they take it a step further and reject all of the Old Testament and all of the letters of the New Testament with the exeption of the gospels letters. Then others do that but in addition to that they also reject all of the gospels because they say that it wasn't written by Jesus. So what's left for them after that? They don't have any historical claim to apostalic teaching authority. They only claim that all they need is a "personal relationship with Jesus" they don't need anyone but themself and Jesus. But how can a single person be a Church unto themself? How can they know what Christianity is all about if they make themself into an island?

im a protestant christian not affiliated with any particular denomination.

i think youre quite right to question such people, and would even go as far to call them flat out wrong. theyre right about how to get saved by a personal relationship with Jesus, but its hardly a demonstration of christian faith to reject Gods written word like that.

i guess what youve observed is the range of beliefs within the christian faith. the fact is, we dont all agree. you didnt mention if youre a christian or not, but if you are i would encourage you to continue looking for discrepancies and investigate the truth for yourself by reading the Bible. obviously, there are still problems as not all christians are even on the same page there. without being able to give you any proof of why you should believe me, i want to encourage you to keep faith in the Bible. it is one of Gods best ways of communicating with us!

the simple answer i have for your questions about how those people can understand christianity, is that they cant. it sounds harsh, but we dont have the authority to decide what parts of Gods word we should or shouldnt believe.

thats my take on it. feel free to email me if you have a question or a problem with something i said :)

I would be very wary of anyone that makes any such claim. Jesus didn't come to get ride of the Law but to fulfill the Law. Without the Old Testament there can be no New Testament. Without the old covenant, there can't be a new covenant. To throw out the letters of the early church, is to throw out the road to become a Christian, a believer.

It is a very dangerous thing to do and any one who preaches this way, run from them for they will lead you astray. Their faith is wasted and the teachings are flawed.

Because, your a lost spiritual ignorant catholic. You would know Truth if it jumped up and bit you in the butt.

You only prove what the catholic system is all about my friend.

You claim to be a Christian? This is not even a remote possibility, with the Catholic teachings.

Your martygra beads and plastic toys are going to have to go, pal.

Your personal play dark rooms for bragging about sins, are to be excluded.

Bummer.

get a life with Christ, and enjoy The very Love, he meant for you.

Have a Good week. Now, give 10 hail mary lic on the wrists, and get over it.

@SPL Texas re: "Jesus taught contained in the scriptures that the Holy Spirit will practice us all issues!" So why do Protestants have preachers? Why can't Protestants agree? Why is the Holy Spirit telling one Protestant one element and yet another Protestant something else?

They aren't Christians if they reject all of the New Testament and all of the Old Testament. Those "ministers" were probably from cults or you weren't even talking to ministers, or you could be partially deaf.

Most of the Protestents I know claim that the ENTIRE Bible is the word of God. Actually, I don't of any that don't. If they do, then that' between them and God. You know what's right and that is good for you, bad for them.

If you studied theology somewhere other than the Catholic seminary, you would understand a lot more than you do. The Catholic church is a disease that eats on Christianity like a cancer.

God place the OT and the NT for a purpose. No one is suppose to "reject" them.
