I have.
The other day, a gentleman came to my counter (I'm a counter agent for a car rental company at the local airport in my town) who had a reservation for a car, but he didn't have a working credit card - which our company requires for all rentals. The man was in town to visit his father who is/was on his deathbed.
When the man made his reservation for everything - airline ticket, auto rental, hotel room - he did it through a travel agency. When the travel agency made the car rental reservation, the travel agent was told by our reservations department that we would accept a cash deposit, plus payment for the rental.
The reservations agent was incorrect, and the guy was stuck. So, what I did, was used his reservation, put myself on as the renter, and added him on as a driver so that he could see his father before his passing. The man paid me the cash, plus 20% for the interest on my credit card.
It made me feel good to help out someone in their time of need. His father did pass, and his mother sent a letter to the company's headquarters thanking me for what I had done for her son.
Oh, and I got a nice raise out of it . . . YAY!

Good for you, girl! Yes, I guess I have too! When I used to live in Chicago and there were many homeless and hungry around my area, I would make a large box full of sandwiches and gallons of iced tea and give them away. I couldn't afford to give them money and didn't want them to use it for drugs or alcohol so I would make inexpensive peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and sometimes those big bags of cookies you can get pretty cheap and, of course, iced tea is pretty cheap to make and my kids and I would go out around the neighborhood and pass it out. I miss those days so now I just help out at the local soup kitchen. There's less homelessness in the area where I live now too. My kids and I used to take Christmas gifts to shelters and visit the senior citizens that were lonely and read to them and visit with them. I still do some of that but not as often.

All the time. I try to do something every day, but it doesn't always work out that way. When God crosses my path with someone in need, I know what He expects of me, and I do it. Matthew 6:1-4 sets the standard, and also explains why a christian might not be comfortable discussing the details of their good deeds.

They haven't been too big of things, mostly small like holding the door open for someone, being polite to a telemarketer, addressing people I don't know as "ma'am" or "sir," and buying the homeless people that frequent the corner at Wal-Mart meals from Burger King. It's always nice to make someone smile...even if they are total strangers to you.

yes, i once gave a homeless man a 20 pound note, i was walking along a busy main road in the city, having a girly shopping trip and feeling good about things, this homeless man up ahead was sat on the pavement, he looked so sad, even had tears in his eyes, everyone was just walking past him, as if he didn't even exist, they didn't even look his way, so i just did it, just handed him a 20 pound note and gave him a smile, the look of shock and amazement on his face was priceless, the feeling of doing good for this man was well worth the 20 pounds i gave him. Id do it again if i could afford to. x

I like to open doors for people especially women with strollers because I am a mom and it is frustrating when people see you trying to open the door with a couple small children. I have bought food for the homeless. and just simply smile at people

Whenever I feel called to it. I often stop to help people along the side of the road. Help people get stuff down in stores, stuff like that. I've loaned money to friends, knowing I wasn't likely to get it back.

I took a box of cinnamon rolls to the family of a patient of mine that was dying. It was my day off. I stayed with them for a while just to let the talk. Then I prayed with them and left. I still talk with them.
